Meet Patrick Rhodes

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Patrick Rhodes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Patrick below.

Hi Patrick, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my faith. When I was a kid I would see my mom giving back to people in our neighborhood. She would spend her free time taking and encouraging people she’d meet out public. Another big influence was being in a military family. I always felt serving our country was the greatest honor a person could do. I love giving back because it’s an rewarding feeling. Just knowing that I made someone else’s day better to me is everything. I hope to continue having empathy and compassion for humanity.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Patrick Rhodes and I’m an community advocate in Tampa, Florida. I got by Patrick The Giver on social media. Since 2019 I’ve been providing free meals to essential workers in my community. I’m passionate about highlighting generosity and acts of kindness. I’m currently providing free meals to teachers and staff at local elementary schools. My other initiative provides free cultural books to schools and community centers.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say tap into what you’re passionate about and pursue that. Do what comes easy to you and perfect that craft. It’s ok to start small. You can make a huge impact in your community by simply starting. You don’t need a lot of money to make a difference. You only need passion, creativity and drive to be successful and impactful.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always seeking other passionate change makers to connect with. A person who had a huge impact on my life was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Back in 2021 he helped me feed over 200+ essential workers. The world is massive and the connections are endless. Together we can make a huge impact in the community. Let’s connect on social media @PatrickTheGiver or visit my website PatrickTheGiver.com
