Patty, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Personally, I feel confidence and self esteem is practice! It is muscle memory. It blooms one step at a time. I have always known I am naturally intuitive. I have always carried an uncanny faith that everything will be ok. I am not saying this from a positive, sunny slant, life got real for me quite a few times and it took me to my knees as most of you can relate to. Yet, I knew, we all come through, changed and still ok.
As a life long student of astrology, I have learned so much about myself by studying my own astrology chart. I can see where the confidence or the fearlessness lies. I can see where I hold myself back or where insecurities live and then work with it. How incredible is this?
Astrology also shows just how special and unique we are, it closes the door to comparison. It is so easy to get caught up in the comparison of what others are doing. When we do this, WE’RE not doing! Sometimes we just need to DO. Only you can do what it is that you do….even if it is the same thing someone else is doing. Your specialness comes through, your message comes through, and I promise, someone is looking to you to bring them what you have to offer. You are exactly what they need. This builds more confidence!
Another boost to self-esteem is looking back to see how far you have come. We naturally forget what we did to get here today. We are constantly looking for the growth, the sales, gathering more clients, and perhaps it feels like slogging through it. Look back at all you have accomplished, look at all you have learned….just look at this! It is amazing work! It gives the nudge and puff out of the chest to take the next steps with renewed confidence and self esteem!
One of the most amazing things to do is to trust yourself. My dear friend Lolee said to trust yourself. Follow through on yourself. If you don’t, you lose trust in yourself. Think highly of yourself…not in an arrogant way…just think highly of yourself.
Remember, it is all practice. When we learn something new, we are wobbling. We practice until it becomes muscle memory. From here, we stand with poise and confidence when offering what we have practiced.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the owner of Aries Moon Shoppe. I offer tarot and astrology readings through the Aries Moon Shoppe website, at festivals and markets, for parties and one on one. I absolutely love what I do. I have given hundreds of readings and am still astounded by the clarity for the clients sitting with me.
My mom was a tremendous influence on my love for tarot and astrology. Needless to say, I knew my “sign” along with everyone else’s! I have read tarot cards for decades.
Aries Moon Shoppe was after my own Aries Moon! Under an Aries Moon is the best time to start something new! It carries the breath of spring…new beginnings. There is a force of nature that cannot be stopped and at the same time carries an innocence with it. This is what I bring out in a reading with me. We can focus on what is happening right now. We talk through the highs and lows of life and come up with really great plans. Putting the Aries Moon energy into the reading creates remarkable outcomes.
We are unique and special. The tarot cards and the astrology chart shows it. There will never be another person like you. I want people to see how incredibly beautiful they are – you came into the world this way.
I am truly honored when I can lay down the cards or cast an astrology chart for someone, whether this is our first time together or our 20th time. Each reading is remarkable.
In April, one of the festivals I am attending is the Belu Olisa Holistic Fair, in Loveland. At this fair, I am giving a lecture called Who Are You in Tarot and Astrology. I am very excited to be doing this. It will give the attendee’s something special to take with them….what archetype you came into this world as. I am very excited to add to new website offerings that bring tarot and astrology together in the reading, watch for this later this summer!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Another great question! One of quality is to surround yourself with amazing people who believe in you. They are everywhere. People love to support people. They really do. I have been so fortunate to meet incredible people on social media to this day are so supportive. I have a core group of women who I meet with nearly every Monday from a class we took together in 2021. We bounce ideas off each other, share what we have learned and cheerlead each other to the next launch. I have met some of the most incredible people in my community, who have introduced me to their friends and family. Everyone is so incredible and supportive. Stay in touch with your peers! I meet amazing readers at the fairs I attend. We are like a big family!
Another quality or area of knowledge would be to never stop learning. Ever. I have sat with incredible teachers. They are generous with their time, their knowledge and it carries over into my work each time. It lights your fire to learn something new and the doors that open can never be shut. We will never be an expert of something. We can be really good at it, but there is always something more to learn. It keeps us sharp too!
I mentioned this earlier, never forget your steps into your journey. It is incredible to see how far you have come. How much you have accomplished. It breathes life into the work you are doing. Stay true to yourself first. Hold yourself dear and to a level of integrity that it shines bright for others to see. Only you can do what you do as you do it. Stay in the joy of your journey!
We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
This is a great question! Right now as a small business owner, I wear many hats as many of us can relate to! I believe we should surround ourselves with people who have different strengths and skills than what we have. For example, my strength is working with people giving readings. I love building relationships with clients. I am not, however, as strong with marketing or website maintenance. I can and do get it done, just not as quickly. At times, it feels like I am arriving in the nick of time! It is a balancing feat doing the work I love, classes, all the behind the scenes magic, and not to mention keeping your everyday life running smoothly! Bringing astrology back into our conversation, my astrology chart carries a lot of strength in the creative ideas and having a business, it lacks some of the finer detailing of running things on the day to day. This is why we should surround ourselves with people who can fill in the gaps to make it a more holistic business model. This is my dream.
