Meet Paul Colman

We recently connected with Paul Colman and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Paul, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I have not completely overcome imposter syndrome but I have travelled a long way from where I first became aware that this was a deep seated issue for me. There are many things that have helped me. The most fundamental changes have happened in reference to my identity and value. I began accepting love, initially mostly in faith. Receiving love has been the deepest agent of change.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

It took me a long time to really figure it out but my passion is connecting with people and being a source of inspiration and encouragement. Ive done this through music, spoken word, sales and volunteer work. I also figured out that I love an eclectic palette work-wise. I produce 3-5 records a year, do performances od my own music and travel with NGO’s and rep and speak for them. I’m constantly writing songs.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Persistence is SO underrated. I am persistent. Being teachable is key. Creativity is not a lace for a vein person.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I have had amazing people in my life who have guided and instructed me. Anything I know that is true I was taught. There were many years that I didnt listen, but I have learnt to.
