Meet Paul Yerian

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paul Yerian. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Paul, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

No Cap, on God. Chop Shop Cards started as a self-care music-therapy, meditative process. After the day was over and the kids are laying in bed falling asleep. I would stay up and with a green cutting mat, a #11 blade from the dollar store, cutting a pikachu out of a pokemon card, sitting at my dinning room table, listening to “Forgot about Dre” in my earbuds. This is where I found my Zen. 1 wrong tiny cut and bye Pikachu’s tail. I chose to learn breathing exercises so that I can time the pace of my heartbeat and make the cuts I need precise. That’s a little extreme but truth I have done it for some intricate cuts. But it also has taught me to be calmer as a person, along with accepting accidents.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Chop Shop Cards are for everyone. We only use 3 of the same card, we help source the cards, we help you pick what card to chop based off of who your favorite character is. We also have the ability to print custom cards also, however that process becomes a lengthier turnaround, yet its still beautiful work. Imagine your favorite streamer as a trading card and you got one that’s 3D and lights up. No-one else has that, I bet they notice you if you did. How about Superman? There are countless number of superman trading cards. We work with you to pick one or we choose one and you wont know what it is until it arrives in the mail. We are for the people, we are by the people. Check us out. We can also include stationary led lights under our Pro Series collection.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I can’t stress enough how taking the first step can be so small you might miss it. Be patient, listen to understand, push boundaries. I told my kids I wanted to learn how to juggle, the next week I was practicing. Now I know how to juggle, I am not great but I can get a couple rounds in so I am still learning. The point is, I wanted to do something, so I did. I said I wanted to learn something new and I did. Chop Shop Cards has been alot of learning new skills from soldering to learning the differences between each craft blade’s number, to learning how to play Disney Lorcana Card Game. Just take the small first step.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

The largest struggle for people in my position is exposure. Its really hard to show the world something new if you dont fit into a mold for the algorithm. So alot of times us pionneers get pigeon holed into one sector or niche. When in reality we fit in all spaces due to the abundance of trading cards and their diversity. We will continue to seek unique cards or cool looking cards to chop and offer to the masses as tribute.
