Meet Paula CruzMeet Jeff Stonic

We were lucky to catch up with Jeff Stonic recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jeff, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
I am not avoiding it. I feel it coming on. The self-discipline that’s earned me so much progress and momentum in my creative/professional life is something I am unable to pull back on or redirect.

Yet, I am able to remain hopeful that balance will come, and find optimism in my awareness of this troublesome pattern.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Jeff Stonic is a Denver-based comic by way of Wiscaaahnsin. He is the creative director of DeadRoom Comedy, runs his own operates a photography studio under the name Jeff Stonic Shot It, and is a published poet with new publications gearing up to showcase his work on its largest stage yet. He also hosts the show and edits all the reels for the Comic Cents Comedy Club in Boulder and can light his farts on fire.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I listened, asked questions, and maintained a sense of humor across the board. My advice is to first listen to yourself and the rest will follow.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
A particular challenge is the format of this interview. I had no idea I was signing up for so much thrilling homework.
