We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paula Sima Mulamula. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paula Sima below.
Hi Paula Sima, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
If we truly being honest… My Dad. That man went through life to make sure my brother and i got everything we needed and sometimes want lol
Having a strong father figure in my life has had a profound impact on shaping who I am today. His unwavering support and encouragement, coupled with his determination to push my limits and challenge my boundaries, have played a pivotal role in my personal development. Through his actions and words, he taught me that there is so much more to life than what meets the eye, igniting within me a burning desire to truly embrace and experience the richness of existence.
Witnessing my father’s strength and resilience in the face of various life challenges inspired me to cultivate a similar mindset. I realized that I didn’t want to settle for mediocrity or allow myself to be defined by weakness. Instead, I yearned to conquer my own limitations and fears, to push through obstacles, and to strive for greatness in all aspects of life.
It was during my own battle with depression that I came to recognize the true power within me. Instead of viewing my mental health struggles as a weakness, I discovered an unexpected wellspring of strength within myself. It was through confronting and navigating the depths of my own emotional turmoil that I found resilience and learned to harness my inner fortitude.
I firmly believe that our greatest strengths often arise from our darkest moments. My experience with depression provided me with a unique perspective, a profound empathy for others facing similar challenges, and a resolute determination to overcome any obstacle in my path. It taught me the importance of self-care, seeking support when needed, and embracing vulnerability as a catalyst for growth.
When people inquire about the origins of my resilience, I attribute it to the remarkable environment of strength and support that has surrounded me throughout my life. It is the unwavering love, encouragement, and belief in my potential that I have received from my father, along with the support of my loved ones, that has fortified my resilience. Their unwavering presence and faith in my abilities have continuously inspired me to persevere and thrive in the face of adversity.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Furthermore, I firmly believe in the power of owning and sharing one’s story, knowing that there is always someone out there who is listening and finding solace in realizing they are not alone on their journey. Authenticity is at the core of my values, as I believe in building genuine connections and surrounding oneself with authentic individuals while uplifting our communities. Positive energy and good vibes are the mantras I live by, and I consider self-care to be an act of self-love.
I am eternally grateful for this incredible journey I am on, especially the stages I have had the privilege of stepping onto and speaking… From winning a Guinness World Record to engaging in meaningful conversations with remarkable individuals, the support I have garnered, the sense of community I am a part of, and the passion that has been ignited within me—I am thankful for it all.
In essence, I am a rebel with a cause, driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the realm of mental health and creative expression.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Authenticity, vulnerability, and the willingness to seek help are the pillars that shape our personal growth and pave the way for meaningful connections.
Your voice holds immense power, and your story is invaluable. It’s easy to feel apprehensive about being vulnerable and sharing our deepest truths, as we might wonder if anyone truly wants to listen. However, can we truly show up authentically without embracing vulnerability? The answer is a resounding no. Authenticity demands vulnerability—it requires us to open ourselves up, share our experiences, and expose our true selves to others. It is through vulnerability that genuine connections are forged.
Embarking on this journey, I, too, grappled with the fear of being vulnerable. The idea of laying bare my struggles, insecurities, and raw emotions seemed daunting. But in reality, vulnerability has become a catalyst for growth and connection. When we have the courage to be vulnerable, we create a space where others can relate, empathize, and connect with our experiences. It’s in those moments of authenticity that true bonds are formed.
Moreover, there is a tendency to believe that we must accomplish everything on our own. We carry the weight of self-imposed pressure, fearing that asking for help might be seen as a sign of weakness. However, it’s crucial to dispel this misconception. Asking for help is not a testament to weakness, but rather a recognition of our limitations and a demonstration of strength. It takes courage to acknowledge our need for support, to admit when we can’t do it all alone. In fact, closed mouths do not get fed—the community and assistance we seek are often right within our reach, waiting for us to speak up.
Embracing your authentic self means embracing vulnerability, allowing others to witness your journey, and connecting on a deeper level. It means recognizing that you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone and being unafraid to ask for help. There is immense power in showing up as your genuine self, and it resonates with others who appreciate and connect with your vulnerability.
So, be unapologetically authentic, embrace vulnerability, and don’t shy away from asking for fucking help. Remember, it is through the combination of authenticity, vulnerability, and reaching out for assistance that we can cultivate deep connections, foster personal growth, and create a supportive community that lifts us up when we need it most.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am eager to forge partnerships and collaborations with individuals and companies that share a commitment to authenticity and are passionate advocates for mental health. It is of utmost importance to me that those I collaborate with not only value authenticity but also actively promote and support mental health initiatives.
I believe in being completely transparent about who I am as a person. I have invested significant time and effort into self-discovery and personal growth, ensuring that I consistently show up as my authentic self. Therefore, it is essential that any potential partner or collaborator understands and embraces this aspect of my identity. While certain aspects can be open to negotiation through discussion, the core foundation of authenticity must be upheld.
Partnering or collaborating with authenticity means creating a space where genuine expression and honest dialogue can flourish. It involves fostering an environment that welcomes diversity, encourages vulnerability, and embraces individuals for who they truly are. It means working together in a way that allows each person’s unique strengths and perspectives to shine, with a mutual understanding that authenticity is the driving force behind our collective success.
When I seek collaborations or partnerships, I aim to align myself with individuals and organizations that prioritize authenticity in their values and actions. This shared commitment creates a solid foundation for collaboration, trust, and growth. Together, we can amplify our voices, advocate for mental health, and inspire others to embrace their authentic selves.
In summary, I am enthusiastic about collaborating and partnering with those who uphold authenticity and champion mental health advocacy. I am unapologetically honest about who I am, and I have dedicated myself to personal growth and self-expression. I seek collaborators who not only respect and support my authenticity but also foster an environment where diverse perspectives can thrive. Let us join forces in promoting authenticity, making a positive impact, and creating meaningful change in the world.
