Meet Paula T Webb, PhD

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paula T Webb, PhD. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Paula, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Developing confidence and self-esteem is an on-going process. Meaning, it doesn’t happen overnight. It is also a process of stepping-stones, with each step leading you to higher attainment of self-confidence, self-trust, goal achievement, all of which lead to self-esteem. Everyone will reach plateaus along this type of self-reflective journey, and the key to fulfillment in these two areas is recognizing that you are, indeed, growing and expanding, even when it seems as if you are standing still. It is in the stillness that we find our strength to build our souls into what we desire.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Along with investment trading, my main focus is helping all levels of traders instill the unique set of mental skills needed to not only think like a winner, but act like one, at any given moment while trading. What sets me apart from any other coaches in the investment industry, is that I walk the talk. I have been in their shoes – been flush and broke, and I chose to learn from these experiences by embarking on the journey of self-reflection to understand what personal beliefs were limiting me from achieving my financial goals. This journey began in 1983 and continues to this day…because everyone must understand that achieving wealth is a constant mindset of knowing what you think and why, and then stepping into the highest beliefs about yourself to meet your goals. Our first three books on this field of Trading Psychology that we co-founded in the late 1980s, (The Disciplined Trader, Trading in the Zone, Independent Prosperity and more) are industry classics, all-time best-sellers to this day on Amazon, and translated into 12 languages. I continue to publish new books on what is now the “New Age” of Trading Psychology taking traders into more depth with regard to belief systems to achieve their trading goals. I currently provide one-on-one coaching for traders, live workshops, podcasts; and an invited speaker to brokerage firms, hedge funds, financial institutions, private investment groups across the country. Along with working 7 days a week at this craft that I love, I am also a Chaplain with the Riverside County Sheriff’s department, on call 24/7 to assist deputies during critical events. This is my way of being grateful for what has been given to me from Above, and giving to others when they may be at a low point.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For me, I would have to say I think being stubborn (for lack of a better word), is what kept me going through some of my most disappointing times and my darkest days. Initially – not letting the other guy win! Along the way, I stopped being stubborn and opened my mind to hearing the answers that I was seeking to my questions. I had to be open to hearing information from anyone, from anywhere, at anytime – to achieve my goals. Having a belief that it is ordained for each and every one of our destinies to be realized, if we choose to believe that. And if we believe that, the sky is the limit to what we can achieve. My advice to someone beginning their journey is to have Faith. Whatever that term means to you. “If you believe, then you can achieve.” I am living proof. I have lost my business twice, and yet today I am more successful than ever. Because I know what I am doing is what I am supposed to be doing, and I am always open to hearing what I need to hear to keep growing spiritually and financially.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Hands down: “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity” by Catherine Ponder. She is one of the most important prosperity teachers ever in the U.S.; and she has been gracious enough to allow me to use some of her materials in my books and workshops. Her perspective on claiming your prosperity is priceless and timeless. For instance: “As you daily develop a state of mind that believes in, expects, and experiences financial independence one day at a time, your state of mind then automatically expands, so that financial independence becomes a weekly, monthly, yearly habit.” Meaning, if you start telling yourself that you deserve whatever level of wealth you desire, day in and day out – TRULY believing it will come to you, then it will. And to keep in mind, that even when it appears that nothing is happening, that is EXACTLY when it is happening in the ethers, in the Universe, and to stay your course.
