Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pauline Cornu-Labat. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Pauline , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self-esteem by committing to understanding myself. I shut out the noise and opinions of others for a while, becoming deeply curious about my own likes and interests without considering what others thought. When I discovered all the intricacies of myself—what I liked and disliked, my opinions on certain topics, my favorite activities, and what truly brought me joy—that’s when I found my authenticity.
My authenticity is unique to me. No one can duplicate me, and I can’t try to become someone I’m not just because I admire them or think they are more “worthy” than I am. We are all worthy, especially when we are true to ourselves. Authenticity allows you to escape all competition.
As I became more authentic, my confidence and self-esteem naturally emerged.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My healing journey began at the age of 16 when I was introduced to Yoga. It was a transformative practice for me, and by the age of 19, I had become a certified Yoga teacher. This initial step into holistic wellness sparked a deeper curiosity and passion for natural healing methods.
My path led me to the ancient science of Ayurveda, which resonated deeply with my desire to understand the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit. I pursued formal education in Ayurveda at Maharishi University, where I immersed myself in its profound wisdom.
Expanding my knowledge further, I studied Herbalism through an Ayurvedic lens at various esteemed institutions, including the School of Evolutionary Herbalism, the Self Heal School, and the Gaia School of Healing. Alongside these structured studies, I engaged in extensive self-study, continuously seeking to deepen my understanding and application of herbal medicine.
Throughout this journey, I have always felt a strong calling to help others and to create art. I discovered a profound love for crafting herbal medicinal blends, offering them in various forms such as teas, topical applications, and tinctures. This passion culminated in the creation of my own company, Healing Habits.
Healing Habits is a reflection of my dedication to preventative healing inspired by Ayurveda. We adopt an elemental approach, utilizing the bounty of the land to create high-quality herbal potions aimed at balancing the body and enhancing awareness. Our philosophy is centered on the idea that taking care of oneself should be a daily habit, not something to be postponed until illness strikes.
At Healing Habits, we prioritize Organic, Non-GMO, and Fair Trade sources, ensuring that every product is made with the utmost care and intention. We believe in quality over quantity, honoring ancient practices and preserving the integrity of every product. This dedication means that our stock is limited, emphasizing that great medicine takes time.
Our mission is to inspire people to take responsibility for their health by reconnecting with nature’s cycles and remedies. We encourage a shift away from the quick-fix mentality, advocating for daily self-care practices that integrate healing into everyday life.
You can find more about our offerings, including courses, classes, and products, on our social media at @Healing.Habits_. We hope to inspire curiosity and empowerment in health and well-being, nurturing a community that values and practices holistic healing.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
– Authenticity
– Dedication to a dream
– Patience/Faith
Build a deep honest relationship with yourself. No one can break that. This foundation of self-awareness and truth is unshakeable and serves as a guiding light in all aspects of life. Authenticity allows you to navigate your journey with confidence and clarity, staying true to who you are despite external pressures. No one can break the bond you have with yourself when it is rooted in authenticity. This strength is both inspiring and contagious, encouraging others to live their truths as well.
Find your passion and protect it. Your passion is your driving force, and in return, it sustains and propels you forward. Dedication to a dream means unwavering commitment, continuous learning, and relentless pursuit of your goals. This dedication not only fuels your progress but also inspires others to pursue their own passions with vigor. Your passion will protect you back, guiding you through challenges and helping you stay focused on what truly matters.
Trust that good things take time. The more energy and effort you invest in your dreams, the more abundant the rewards will be in the future. Patience is essential in the process of growth and achievement. Have faith that everything is unfolding in your favor. Embrace the journey, including its twists and turns, knowing that each step is bringing you closer to your goals. Be flexible and willing to shift gears when necessary, as long as you remain true to what brings you joy and serves the community. Trust that your dedication will bear fruit in due time.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to let me explore my curiosities with their full support, no matter the direction I chose. I am deeply grateful for the freedom they gave me. They never forced me to fit an ideal or mold; instead, they always accepted me for who I am. Their unwavering acceptance allowed me to grow and discover my true passions.
