We recently connected with Pearl World and have shared our conversation below.
Pearl, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I’ve always been in clubs, sports, after school programs and most importantly, theatre which has always been full of challenges. When your team wins, when you rehearse and learn that song, or when you get a standing ovation after a show. Those accomplishments have been confidence builders and a way to keep learning and creating.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’ve always been an actor, a performer who loved to play dress up and watch shows and movies! That’s how I got into Musical Theatre, Classical Theatre and Children’s Theatre. I trained professionally as a singer in NYC while I also did Film and TV. I even got a chance to do my own stunts. When Covid hit in 2019 all my gigs got cancelled. The silver lining was that I got an opportunity to become a Livestream Host and get back into video games which I hardly had time for before then. I love that streaming live on TikTok allows me to use all of my skills and have access to a huge audience! I will be streaming live most days as pearl_world99 on TikTok. I’m rebranding and creating new content as we speak!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My Acting training has always been something I’m passionate about and I love telling a story or painting picture using performance and visuals. My interest in fine arts and literature also made me curious and I discovered so many characters in stories and books that I related to. Lastly, being involved in activities made me sort of a social butterfly. Sports camp, Engineering Society, French club and Honor Society gave me access to a lot of varied friend groups. This and working in restaurants allowed me to see all the characters I had been reading about come to life!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to collaborate with like minded artists. My work is for all ages and people who love animation, video games, cosplay, anime and music! I sing and do voiceovers for animated projects and I love working with musicians. I’m pearl_world99 on TikTok.
