Meet PeezyGoHard

We were lucky to catch up with PeezyGoHard recently and have shared our conversation below.

PeezyGoHard, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I believe we all harness our own individual powers whether its color, age, height or weight. True power is within. Knowing this, i tend to build self confidence right on the spot in these environments. Understanding that what i have to offer no one in the room can replicate or replace, i found my ability to take control and grab the attention of others who may not look like me but may think the same. This is how i’ve continued to grow and build long lasting relationships in the music business.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I own Black Dollar Records LLC an independent recording label stationed in Dallas, Tx built to disrupt modern record label practices by giving the power and knowledge back into the artists, singers & song-writers.

The most exciting part about having such a revolutionary platform is the change in artists trajectory when provided the labels resources such as artist developement, a hard-working team that places focus on where the artists are wanting out of their craft rathen than the labels demands. We offer artists full creative ability here with just a few suggestions and tweaks from the label.

One thing we would like everyone to know about our brand is that Black Dollar Records was created by the Artists for the Artists. We provide a positive platform that values education, healthy practices & building forever relationships with our partners.

Black Dollar Records will be making a revolutionary act this Fall by removing all of our music from modern “View, Play, Listen” count strategies and uploading all content for sale on our official website
BlackDollarRecords.com we are looking to place the financial power back into the artists hands by getting every dollar owed to them from their musical contributions.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Number one quality for me would be the Comprehension of the industry and knowing when changes are being made and when & how to capitalize on those changes at the right moments.

My Number one skill is teaching and informing artists, producers & song writers about the industry they are getting themselves into and how to capitalize and expand their brand.

My areas of knowledge expand from Industry knowledge all the way down to contract negotiating. There isnt one area that i can primarily focus on. Each has its own value on a need to know basis

The best advice i could give someone inspired to not only create music but their own label aswell is to have the love for music first. Whether it inspires you to write or inspires you to be a greater person. Loving music is the best inspiration to starting a record label. Inform yourself and understand you will never know everything. This is why building relationships are very important. Write down everything and dont think or wait too long. The time is now.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

We are looking to partner or collaborate with other businesses & organizations to increase our brand exposure, break into new markets, and add value to products or services such as clothing, liquor, tech, & community events.
