Meet Penelope Clardy

We recently connected with Penelope Clardy and have shared our conversation below.

Penelope, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

Many people hear ‘generosity’ and immediately think money. I’d like to challenge that view point. Generosity is the giving of anything sacrificial. So for me to live a life of generosity, is for me to give of my time, my talent, my treasure, my attention, my care, my heart, my love…even if it brings me a certain level of discomfort. Jesus gave of Himself fully, He didn’t withhold any drop of His blood on the cross when He paid a debt He didn’t owe because we owed a debt we couldn’t pay. His life and His word shows us how to live generous. Mathew 5:41 says to go the extra mile for people. Don’t just do the bare minimum. Practice a lifestyle of unreasonable hospitality. Especially when it comes to being generous with our forgiveness to one another. When you feel like you’ve forgiven until you can’t forgive anymore…forgive again. Why? Because that is the same grace and forgiveness we receive from our Father in Heaven.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am in charge of a women’s ministry called Women of War. We are a collective group of women who come from all different backgrounds, ages and stages, churches, new believers, seasoned saints, drug addicts, gang bangers, you name it and you’ll find it within our community. Gods love is this…that while we WERE STILL SINNERS Christ died on our behalf. We welcome the sinner just as much as the “saint” to our meetings because Jesus didn’t come for the healthy, He came for the sick. So our meetings are open for anyone to join as long as you have the goal to experience the Lord Jesus, and grow in your faith.

We begin our meetings with live worship, then we will study the Bible together, and then we will pray together. We have seen miracles with our own eyes at these gatherings!

We do not meet in the same location every month, we move house to house, venue to venue. We look for people or places to host our meetings every month. The Lord always provides a place!

If you want to join us, you can follow my Instagram account WomenOfWar_Nashville to keep up with events.

If you want to host us at your house, your church, your event venue, your community center, etc. please reach out and let us know!

The goal we have at Women Of War, is to lead people into an encounter with Jesus that will change everything. My life has personally been completely redeemed and renewed by the Holy Spirit and I want everyone to know and have the same freedom I do in Christ!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My rock bottom was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me so I want to encourage you, if you are at your rock bottom, then you are in the prime place to be for a radical exchange with Jesus Christ as He hands you His robe for your rags.

There’s a saying I’ve heard that is so true and very mind shifting…. “Getting demons to leave your body is the easy part, but the discipline it takes to continue to walk in that freedom is the hard part.” So for whoever is just getting started in their walk with Christ, you must be disciplined. That means that just because I may want to get high, or I may want to get drunk….doesnt mean I actually have to. The Bible says “who the Son sets free is free indeed”. Now that you have been freed from captivity of sin and addiction, now you actually have the power and the authority to not give into the same things you once did. You have to actually learn how to maneuver through the same life problems yet, with a new game plan. So even if the situations around you haven’t changed yet…YOUVE CHANGED and you can take control over how you act, react, and respond.

You need accountability. You need a mentor.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I want to take Women Of War on the road. Not to make myself famous or make my name known. I just have a burning passion and desire to see the blind receive sight, the dead to live again, the hungry fed, the sick healed, the captive be set free. And I know that’s Bible talk and some may not understand what I’m saying…I want to reach the people that no one else will reach. I want to bring the Gospel to people who everyone else looks down on and has lost hope in.

So I want to partner with people around America, let Women of War come to your community, come to your family, come to your recovery home, come to a prison near you, come to your church, wherever it may be….we want to bring the light of Christ into every dark place.
