We recently connected with Percy Brown and have shared our conversation below.
Percy, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from how I was raised and many life changing experiences I was able to face and overcome. Growing up in the Foster Care system, many people thought I would just become another statistic and many people bullied me for my situation. One of the greatest experiences I got to do was work at my college, St. Bonaventure University, soup kitchen called The Warming House. I got to work with people struggling with Mental Health, Recovering Drug Addicts, Military Veterans, Homeless and Low Income people who despite their challenges, were always positive, treated each other with respect and were always willing to give and help others even if they didn’t have. Working there really made me appreciate everyone from all walks of life, to not judge people, and to realize that generosity can come a long way, no matter how big or small. And Remember, “A Helping Hand is a Better Hand”!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Known as “The Most Charismatic Man” I am an American Actor, Podcast Host and Entertainer whose roots began in the vibrant and fast-paced city of New York City. Growing up in Foster Care at the age of six and being adopted at age 11, I struggled to fit in with my peers, but I quickly learned that I enjoyed Dancing, Playing Chess, Writing and Performing. I honed my skills in chess for six years, beginning to compete at the local and national level at the age of seven. My creative passion eventually led to me pursuing acting at age 14 as a student at the Urban Assembly School for the Performing Arts, I was nurtured and mentored by the award-winning Epic Theatre Ensemble, whose exceptional work earned them recognition from none other than former First Lady Michelle Obama.
With acting as my main passion, I studied Shakespeare and performed Off-Broadway around NYC during high school, which led to me becoming a Theatre Major at St. Bonaventure University. While there, I became an Irene Ryan KCACTF Nominee in 2017 due to my role as Horatio in Hamlet and I earned my BA in Fine Arts/Theatre in 2018, which I earned the coveted Most Ideal Bonaventure Man Award. During this time, I also performed Card Magic for eight years, even performing card tricks for Season 8 AGT Contestant Colins Key. While living in LA, I’ve become known for my multiple appearances on the popular YouTube Channel Jubilee, appearing in 6 episodes that has amassed over 11 million views across various platforms, Boasting an impressive resume of over 30 credits across Theatre, New Media, Commercial work, and Film, I expanded my creative reach by launching ThePrinceofFreshAir Podcast in 2020, a platform that has grown exponentially and now reaches global audiences and now on IMDB. With availability on over 30 major platforms, ThePrinceofFreshAir Podcast is another example of my endless potential and unwavering drive for success as a Performer and as a Person. “The Most Charismatic Man” isn’t just a brand: It represents the journey to becoming who I am today, my strong confidence and its about empowering and inspiring others to achieve their own greatness!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that were very impactful for me is being Confident, Dedicated and Passionate. Those are things that took me years of failure, success and experience to develop and use to my advantage. No matter what you do, having those three skills will make the journey much more enjoyable and keep you inspired even at times when it feels your back is against the wall. My advice to anyone early in their journey or even a seasoned pro is to be ready and prepared for everything because life isn’t always easy. Confidence will keep you interesting and balanced, Dedication will allow you to push on through the High and Low moments, and Passion will allow you to stay the course no matter what. Nothing in life worth having comes easy!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always willing to collab with any and everyone who are willing to share their story or create meaningful art. Whether you have a large following, established or just getting started in your journey, I want to give anyone a chance that is passionate, hard working and mean business. I enjoy working with people who are true professionals: keep communication a priority, on time, engaging, charismatic, passionate and most importantly have a vision!
