We recently connected with Peso Legendary and have shared our conversation below.
Peso, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Finding my purpose may have been one of the most difficult obstacles I have ever faced. I struggled immensely with identifying my purpose, and I strongly believe it was because I didn’t really know who I was. I felt I was trying to be someone I wasn’t and without authenticity you can’t fulfill your true purpose. I would also say becoming a father definitely helped me find purpose. Not only do I now have the responsibility of providing for my children, but it is now my duty to shape and mold them to find their purpose in life as well.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a music artist as well as a fashion designer. I have my own clothing brand, Forever Legendary clothing. I also own a trucking company in which I fund all of my ventures. My goals are to expand my trucking company and solely rely on that as passive income. I also plan on opening a flagship retail store front where customers can come and shop with a dope experience. I am working on a 12 song project right now titled “Nothing More To Prove”, with features from, Benji Stone, Will Bently, 2Eleven & more. This project is special to me because I feel over the years of my career, all of the music I have put out and/or released has just been unorganized and improper. There’s been multiple times where I’ve gotten discouraged, given up and have even said that I’m done with music, but my genuine supporters always give me words of encouragement to keep going. SO I CANT LET THEM DOWN! I have been told by numerous people countless times that I am too talented to quit, and that’s exactly what I plan on showing the world.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 qualities that were most impactful to me are resilience, consistency and ambition. I feel in anything you do these 3 factors are key. I’ve been rapping for years and although I haven’t been consistent in terms of music, I still have genuine supporters who stream and support me. So its still a form of consistency if that makes since. I would advice people early in their journey to stay committed and always babe authentic. And if you like something, don’t worry about the opinions of others, drop release and promote it because its a million people who will like too!
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
The number one obstacle I am facing currently is trying to find a balance. Im only one man, I can’t manage an entire truck company, manage a clothing brand, manage my own music career and be a full time father all at once. Im trying to find ways to scale down on some of the responsibility yet while still being involved. I’ve recently reached out to some resources to help fulfill my needs, so hopefully it works out. In the event it doesn’t I will just take it day by day. My time will come eventually.
