Meet Peter Zepina

We were lucky to catch up with Peter Zepina recently and have shared our conversation below.

Peter, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

How did I find my purpose?, well that’s kind of an interesting question. There are so many layers to one’s “purpose”. Lately I’ve had a lot of friends and acquaintances that have been discussing this topic of “finding purpose” in their own lives. Speaking for myself (hopefully this sheds some light on the subject for others) is you don’t actually realize specific parts of your purpose in life until you’ve been through some layers of existence. For instance, at a young age I was all about “the music”, I loved it; I listened to it constantly; I loved the way it made me feel and I loved watching the way it made other people feel as well. Music is and was so powerful in my childhood that it became my passion. Finding passion is a great feeling to have, When your passionate it will start shaping your life; it will wake you up early and keep you up late at night, you’ll start prioritizing everything so that nothing and no-one will interfere with where you want to go. Sound simple? Sure, that part is, but next is identifying your “gifts”. God gives all of us “gifts” and these “gifts” are things that come easy to us, things that we excel at effortlessly. A lot of people overlook these gifts and or dismiss them and or take them for granted. The simple formula is, If your “gift” is directly related to your “passion” there’s a good chance that you will succeed in that vertical and or plane of existence with one catch; you really need to put the work in; and that’s what I did, I was non-stop, everything was music, started playing drums, started singing, started a band, got record deal, charted a record in Billboard etc etc. and so on. So how does this relate to “finding purpose”. in one’s life? Along the journey of following your passion there’s a rollercoaster of experiences and emotions; you’ll start to realize what’s really important and what is not; what resonates, what gives you the most fulfillment and what brings you the most joy. Along my journey I realized that helping others realize that their gifts and passion are worthy of recognition and bringing that recognition to fruition by having their music placed in visual content which broadcasts all over the world is definitely a “layer to my purpose”.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three most important / impactful parts of my journey or anyone’s journey are 1. having a realistic plan 2. applying yourself to the plan 3. sticking to and pivoting the plan as the business around it changes.
My advice for young entrepreneurs is to surround yourself with people who have vision and never be the smartest person in the room.
