My confidence and self-esteem have evolved through a combination of experiences, challenges, and intentional personal growth. Engaging in continuous learning, navigating through both successes and setbacks, and receiving positive feedback have all played integral roles in shaping my self-assurance. Additionally, effective time management, surrounding myself with a supportive network, and acknowledging and celebrating achievements have been crucial aspects of my confidence-building journey. Embracing challenges, learning from experiences, and staying committed to personal development have collectively contributed to the development of my confidence and self-esteem.

As the Founder of Fixation, I’ve navigated through personal and professional hurdles in recent years. In 2019, I faced the daunting decision of a preventative double mastectomy due to the BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutation, carrying an 87% risk of breast cancer. The journey continued with multiple surgeries in the subsequent year.
After recovering, makeup became my sanctuary, reigniting my radiant energy. The daily ritual brought peace and a newfound passion for lashes. Fixation was born from my desire to empower women, turning adversity into a dream business.
My goal is simple: to inspire confidence and beauty in every woman. My story is a testament to resilience, demonstrating how challenges can transform into a dream business. Fixation encourages women to embrace bravery, radiance, and self-love.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, three crucial elements that have significantly shaped my path are:
• Mastering Multitasking: Juggling the roles of a full-time paternal sonographer and a full-time mom necessitates adept multitasking. This skill enables me to seamlessly navigate the demands of both my professional and personal life.
• Resilience and Adaptability: The entrepreneurial journey is rife with challenges and unexpected twists. Developing resilience and adaptability has been paramount. Embracing change, learning from setbacks, and staying resilient in the face of adversity have been instrumental in my success.
• Effective Time Management: Balancing the responsibilities of being a founder/CEO, a perinatal sonographer, and a mom demands effective time management. Prioritizing tasks, setting realistic goals, and optimizing my time allows me to make the most of every day.
