Meet Philip Wrencher

We recently connected with Philip Wrencher and have shared our conversation below.

Philip, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Has to be my mother, the strongest person I know. Right from the beginning she gave me back to the Lord and always prayed over me. No matter the obstacle she knew she was not in it alone and she could only do what she could do and give the rest to the Lord. She placed resiliency in me with love passion and determination. Never give up, there are reasons certain doors and windows are close, you have to open your eyes to walk to a different hallway to find the door or window that is for you.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I work in the entertainment industry in front and behind the camera. Started off as an actor and to supplement my income and to stay more in the business I went to work behind the scenes. As an actor I love being part of projects that really touches people’s emotion and how we are all connected. As a filmmaker I love the collaborative process of creating works of art that has many hands to construct something beautiful especially in our control chaos.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Faith: As a Christian in this industry and in life its only so much we have control
Adaptability: Everything is constantly changing and updating
Determination: No one is just gonna hand you anything, you have to go full out for it ask for, learn it, etc.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

Simplify. I’m a classic overthinker, want to complicate things more than should be. Still learning, but doing a lot better just to really simplify things and build from there. Building different character stop thinking of all things intrinsic qualities and ticks, but just really getting down to simple essence of the character and what they want, from that you can build such a beautiful character.
