Meet Phoenix Sohl

We were lucky to catch up with Phoenix Sohl recently and have shared our conversation below.

Phoenix , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
In navigating environments where I stood out due to my identity as a woman of color and a free thinker, my journey towards success was anchored in embracing my differences with courage. Being the only one who looked like me often meant confronting perceptions and expectations.

I learned that the key to success was in embracing my uniqueness. It wasn’t just about accepting myself; it was about acknowledging the strength and value that came with my diverse perspective. This realization took courage – the courage to speak my truth authentically despite potential pushback or discomfort.

Over time, I discovered that my power was in my willingness to stand firm in my beliefs, even in the face of adversity. This taught me to trust my instincts and follow my gut, a compass that consistently guides me towards the right decisions.
This trust in my unique perspective hasn’t steered me wrong; it’s been the driving force behind my success.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am The Goddess of R&B, and my artistry is a fusion of music, dance, and spirituality rooted in embracing the divine feminine. What’s truly exciting about my walk is the opportunity to share a message of empowerment, especially with young black girls & women

My music isn’t just about rhythms and beats; it’s a celebration of spiritual connectivity and embracing one’s divine essence. I’m passionate about guiding others to recognize that true power isn’t solely found in external validations like material wealth or fleeting pleasures. Instead, it’s about delving deep into oneself, connecting with one’s higher purpose, and embracing a mind-body-soul lifestyle.

What sets my expression apart is the emphasis on this holistic approach to empowerment. I want my audience to understand that their strength lies not just in liberation or financial success but in their connection to themselves, their spirituality, and their unique path in life.

Through my music and presence, I aim to inspire a reality rooted in love and joy. It’s about encouraging others to manifest their destinies by cultivating a reality that resonates with their authentic selves. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals to create a life filled with purpose, authenticity, and an unwavering connection to their higher selves.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities stand out as instrumental in my growth: resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning.

Resilience was my bedrock. It allowed me to weather storms and setbacks, failures were stepping stones toward success. Developing resilience involved embracing loses as opportunities to learn.

Adaptability was another key asset. In an ever-evolving world, being adaptable meant staying open to change, new ideas, and different perspectives. Flexibility helps me pivot when needed and thrive in new environments.

Continuous learning was the third pillar. Embracing a mindset of constant growth allows me to be creative and innovative. Whether through formal education or seeking knowledge from experiences and mentors, my thirst for learning has propelled me forward.

For those beginning their journey, I’d advise focusing on these qualities:

Cultivate resilience: Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Every setback holds a lesson; view them as stepping stones rather than roadblocks.

Develop adaptability: Stay open-minded and flexible. Embrace change as a chance for evolution, not an obstacle.

Commit to continuous learning: Never stop seeking knowledge. Learn from experiences, seek mentors, and stay curious about the world.

Growth isn’t solely about reaching a destination; it’s about the journey. Embrace the process, stay persistent, and believe in your ability to overcome. These qualities will help you enjoy the journey and define your success.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m currently in a period of collaboration with like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a real impact. I’m drawn to creative minds that are not only focused on their craft but also dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the world.

I’m partnering with big-picture visionaries—individuals whose art is a catalyst for change, individuals who aren’t content with merely creating but are driven by the question: How are we changing the world?

My ideal collaborators are those who share a commitment to leveraging their creativity as a force for positive transformation. Whether it’s through music, visual arts, social initiatives, or any other medium, I’m drawn to individuals who understand the power of art as a tool for societal change.

If you’re reading this and resonate with this vision, I’d love to connect! Feel free to reach out through Instagram @iamphoenixsohl Let’s explore how our combined creative energies can amplify impact and contribute to a world where art is as a driving force for change.
