Piano, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

The answer to this question lies in my vivid imagination and my love for dreaming. It’s something that has been with me since childhood and something I continue to nurture to this day. I live in two parallel realms: the reality of the day, and the dream world I enter at the end of the day. In that dreamy world, I create—and it’s there that my music is born.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Vesna, and my artist name is Piano Lilium. I’m from Belgrade, Serbia. By day, I work in a pharmacy; by night, I compose and play piano music in various genres, including neoclassical, orchestral, and new age. My music is emotional and it blends simplicity with soul. I am also a wife and a mother of two sons.

I’ve been playing the piano by ear since I was five years old and later completed six years of primary music school. Eventually, I chose to study pharmacy, and today I balance my career in that field with my deep passion for music.

In 2020, I opened my music account—and something incredible happened. I connected with amazing people from the art world and collaborated with them on inspiring projects. Soon after, I began sharing my original music on streaming platforms, worked with talented musicians, created three EPs, and even had my songs played on One World Music Radio UK. It’s a dream come true – one I’ve had since I was young.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three things that have been most impactful in my journey are creativity, faith, and love.

I believe everyone is creative—just in different areas of life. The key is to discover where your creativity lies and nurture it.

Faith is essential. Faith that good things can happen if you try, if you don’t give up. It means not listening to those who discourage you, not allowing anyone to tell you you’re not good enough. Keep working, keep trying, keep believing in yourself—and never give up.

And of course, love. Love from our family and friends. But it’s not only about receiving love—it’s also about giving it, freely and without measure. And it always comes back. Sometimes it returns in ways we don’t expect, sometimes not from the people we thought it would—but from unexpected souls with a pure and good heart. Yet it always finds its way back.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I’m trying to live as if this is my last decade—doing more of the things I love, spending time with family and friends, playing with my kids, sharing emotions with my loved ones, traveling whenever I can, and composing music. Life is short, and we never know what the future holds.
