Meet Pilar De La Cruz

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Pilar De La Cruz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Pilar, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

“My pain became my purpose. At the tender age of eighteen, I gave birth to my daughter, who was born with special needs. This pivotal moment occurred during my senior year of high school, starkly altering the trajectory of my life. Faced with questions of ‘why me, why her,’ I embarked on a profound search for understanding and healing.

This quest led me to delve into the worlds of yoga, Reiki, sound healing, therapy, and various holistic modalities. Through these practices, I discovered not only answers but also a profound shift in perspective. The question transformed from ‘why me’ to ‘why not you?’ This realization empowered me to see that I had the ability to change my own experiences and emotions regarding life’s challenges.

These practices provided me with the tools to heal and embrace my circumstances, inspiring me to help others do the same. My purpose is to guide individuals through their own healing journeys, enabling them to find peace, strength, and understanding in their paths, just as I have in mine.”

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’ve dedicated my life to helping others heal and grow through my multifaceted roles as a Yoga Instructor, Inner Work Coach, Sound Healer, and Reiki Practitioner. Each facet of my work is a reflection of my own healing journey and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
What excites me most about my work is witnessing the transformational shifts in those I guide. Whether it’s through the grounding practice of yoga, the deep introspection of inner work coaching, or the soothing harmonics of sound healing, each modality offers a unique pathway to wellness. Reiki adds an energetic dimension, fostering balance and revitalization within.
One of the most special aspects of my practice is the integration of these disciplines, allowing me to offer a holistic approach that caters to the individual needs of each person I work with. This integrative methodology allows for a personalized journey of healing and self-discovery—a journey that enables individuals to align with their true selves.
In my yoga classes, I create workshop-style sessions that incorporate various modalities, with a particular focus on restorative and inner child healing workshops. These sessions are designed to access deep layers of healing, helping individuals reconnect with their inner selves and renew balance in their lives.
As an entrepreneur and small business owner, I am looking to expand and collaborate with other companies that share a similar vision to serve and help others heal from within. By partnering with like-minded organizations, I aim to create greater impact and accessibility in the world of holistic healing.
Currently, I’m focused on expanding my offerings and reaching a broader community. I am excited to announce the upcoming launch of guided online workshops and retreats, designed to make healing accessible regardless of geographical location. These programs aim to create a supportive space for collective growth and transformation, bringing people together both virtually and in-person.
As I continue to evolve, my mission remains steadfast: to empower individuals to navigate their own paths to healing, resilience, and clarity. It’s an honor to be a part of each person’s unique journey, and I am continuously inspired by the strength and transformation of those I have the privilege to work with.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The journey of healing from within is a profound path that involves reconnecting with your true self and cultivating a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It begins with an intention to look inward and a willingness to embrace both the light and shadow aspects of oneself.
Self-Awareness: The journey starts with cultivating self-awareness. This involves paying attention to your inner dialogue, recognizing patterns, and understanding how past experiences shape your present reality. Through practices such as mindfulness and introspection, you begin to uncover hidden beliefs and emotions that may have been influencing your life.
Acceptance and Compassion: As you deepen your self-awareness, acceptance plays a crucial role. Embracing all parts of yourself—without judgment—is essential. This acceptance fosters compassion, allowing you to nurture your inner child and address any wounds with kindness and understanding.
Empowerment and Transformation: Healing from within is ultimately about empowerment. With newfound awareness and acceptance, you have the power to consciously choose how you wish to move forward. This involves releasing limiting beliefs, setting healthy boundaries, and embracing change. Practicing modalities like yoga, sound healing, and Reiki support this transformation, offering tools to balance mind, body, and spirit.
Ongoing Journey: It’s important to remember that healing is a continuous journey, not a destination. There will be ebbs and flows, but each step taken is a testament to your strength and resilience. By honoring your process and allowing yourself the time and space to heal, you create a foundation for ongoing growth and self-discovery.
As you navigate this journey, seeking community and support can provide valuable guidance and encouragement. Remember, healing from within is not only about addressing pain but also about rediscovering joy, purpose, and connection to one’s true essence.
For me it is essentially being connected to source, being present.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Throughout my journey, several key figures and experiences have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and develop the essential skills and qualities needed for my success.
My Therapist: A pivotal figure in my journey has been my therapist, who has guided me through psychodynamic yoga therapy for over 13 years, with a brief hiatus in between. The unique formula and strategy used in our sessions have been transformative, consistently encouraging me to look inward and ask the profound questions that lead to self-discovery and healing. This therapeutic relationship has been a cornerstone in my personal growth.
Tony Robbins Mastery University: In 2024, I immersed myself in Tony Robbins’ Mastery University, which has profoundly influenced my development as both a woman and an entrepreneur. The insights and tools gained from this experience have empowered me to enhance my leadership skills and expand my vision, driving me to new heights in my career and personal life.
Community and Support Network: Alongside these influential experiences, my community, including family, friends, and fellow practitioners, has provided unwavering encouragement and support. Their belief in me and their collective wisdom have been instrumental in helping me navigate my path with confidence.
