Pilar, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Not having the money for rent is one of those situations that hits hard- it touches your stability, your sense of safety, and your ability to protect your children. Reaching out for government assistance takes courage. A lot of people don’t realize how humbling -and brave- it is to ask for help when your back is against the wall.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities, skills or area of knowledge that could be highly impactful would likely include strong communication, financial literacy, and community connections.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I watched them work tirelessly, day after day- not just to provide, but to lead by example. They showed me that success doesn’t come overnight, but through consistency, humility, and heart. They made sure I never forgot where I came from- our roots, our language, and our values. this connection to my heritage is what inspires me to serve and uplift my Latino community today.
