We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Poet- Terence Demien Harris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Poet- Terence Demien below.
Hi Poet- Terence Demien, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic stems from me being aware that work precedes success of any kind. It’s not the meek who achieves prominence in this world. No, it’s those who’re willing to take risk, lose sleep, go broke, stand before the throne of doubt and still exhibit an unwavering faith in your abilities. Your work ethic will let you know just how badly you want what you’re asking the heaven’s to give you. You can’t get around it. I understand and embrace fully this principal and it’s the 1 characteristic that is shared by every great and accomplished man to ever grace this earth.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the greatest poet to ever put ink to paper. I’m building a poetry empire that will ensure the imprint I leave on this art will remain for many generations after me. I’m reintroducing this beautiful art form t to a multitude of races, cultures, and ethnic groups who, prior to listening to me, didn’t find it worth lending an ear to. The people will say in unison: Terence Demien Harris is truly the Face of Poetry.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that has helped me are 1. Be fair in your business dealings 2. Not being afraid to walk way from what no longer serves you 3. Stay hungry.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my father did was reject me. It served as a precursor to what I would encounter later in life. Being able to shoulder rejection will equip you with all the tools needed to deal with any perceived setback you deal with later in life. It makes distancing yourself from those whose intentions aren’t pure much easier. And the sting is less painful. The most impactful thing my mother did was make life extremely difficult for me. In doing so she taught me resilience. She gave me a drive that still pushes me today.
I love them both and I wouldn’t exchange them for another mom and dad even if presented with the opportunity to do so.
