Meet Poetic Moor

We recently connected with Poetic Moor and have shared our conversation below.

Poetic, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

“I developed my confidence and self-esteem by acknowledging the support I’ve received from my family and friends, who have always believed in me. Despite not always feeling confident, I remind myself of the achievements I’ve made so far. Over time, I’ve learned to be less hard on myself and to combat self-doubt with a positive outlook. Reflecting on my accomplishments and the encouragement I’ve received has helped me build my confidence.”

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

“I’m an artist and a private entertainer, specializing in writing and performing songs for weddings and corporate events. What excites me most about my work is the collaborative effort it entails, whether I’m on stage or behind the scenes. From crafting the perfect setlist to rehearsing every detail, I find joy in the entire process leading up to a show. Being part of a new team for each event is particularly rewarding, akin to completing a significant project every time. In addition to my live performances, I’m passionate about creating poetry and music hybrids, and I’m thrilled to be launching a series soon. On top of that, I’m expanding my brand with a new fragrance line set to debut shortly. Currently, I’m gearing up for a major wedding event, and I’m also venturing into live music video production, collaborating with talented artists like Kendra Erika and Chloe Lattanzi on their project, ‘Self Love Symphony.’ Everything feels like a new mission in order when we set it in motion, and it just flows. I’m excited to bring out different moods and emotions through my art.”

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities that have been particularly impactful are resilience, adaptability, and a thirst for continuous learning. In the face of challenges and setbacks, resilience has allowed me to persevere and keep moving forward. Adaptability has been crucial in navigating changes and seizing opportunities in an ever-evolving landscape. Additionally, a commitment to continuous learning has enabled me to stay relevant and grow both personally and professionally.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to cultivate these qualities deliberately. Develop resilience by embracing failures as learning experiences and bouncing back stronger. Cultivate adaptability by staying open to new experiences, perspectives, and ways of doing things. And prioritize continuous learning by seeking out opportunities for growth, whether through formal education, mentorship, or self-directed learning. Remember that success is not linear, and each challenge is an opportunity for growth. Stay focused on your goals, stay adaptable, and never stop learning.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

“Right now, one of the main challenges I’m dealing with is time management. Balancing the search for new gigs, responding to inquiries, and maintaining a practice schedule while also attending to personal responsibilities can be overwhelming. It’s a juggling act, especially with the added complexity of traveling for shows. However, I’m actively working on finding better ways to prioritize and allocate my time effectively, ensuring I can manage everything smoothly.”
