Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Polina. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Polina, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I believe that how I care for myself directly affects how I show up for my clients. My daily routine is truly my foundation — I try to eat and sleep around the same time each day, which may sound boring, but it’s one of the most powerful ways to stay balanced. Going to bed early and honoring rest keeps my energy steady and my mind clear, allowing me to be fully present with others.
My spiritual practice is another anchor in my life. I begin each morning with meditation, breathwork, or journaling — It helps me tune in to my inner state before I start the day. These moments of stillness provide inner peace that allows me to hold space for others with more compassion and clarity.
Movement is another essential part of my self-care. I walk my dog every day and make time for yoga, tennis, or the gym — depending on what my body needs. Movement helps me stay grounded, connected, and calm.
I’ve also learned that running your own business can easily become a seven-day-a-week job if you let it. It’s taken me time to understand that taking true days off is vital — days when I don’t check my email and instead focus on being fully present with my family, friends, or simply with myself. Those pauses help me recharge, so when I return to work, I feel more inspired, productive, and clear.
Because seeing clients can sometimes be emotionally intense, I make sure to create space to decompress. Sometimes that means saying no to social events or choosing a quiet evening at home over a busy gathering. I’ve realized that downtime isn’t indulgent — it’s essential to sustain my energy and compassion.
Travel is one of my passions and also a part of my work — I lead wellness retreats around the world. Maintaining balance while traveling is all about keeping small daily rituals: waking early, meditating, drinking warm water in the morning, and choosing grounding foods. These little anchors keep me centered no matter where I am.
Twice a year, in spring and fall, I do a personal Ayurvedic reset. For a couple of weeks, I simplify — switching to a kitchari-based mono diet, spending time in nature, stepping away from social media, and giving my body and mind space to rest and detox. This ritual clears my head, improves my sleep, and helps me reconnect with my intentions.
All of these practices — from my daily rhythm to my seasonal resets — help me stay balanced, energized, and emotionally clear. When I take care of myself in these ways, I’m able to show up more fully for my clients, offering them not just knowledge, but presence, empathy, and authenticity.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My journey into Ayurveda and holistic healing began many years ago through my own search for balance and deeper understanding of the mind-body connection. I first discovered Ayurveda through yoga more than fifteen years ago, during my yoga teacher training. What began as a curiosity about movement and mindfulness soon opened the door to something much deeper — a complete system of living in balance with nature. Ayurveda gave language to what I had always intuitively felt: that our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are inseparable.
Over time, that personal interest became my life’s work. Today, I’m an Ayurvedic practitioner and founder of Healing Moon Ayurveda, where I offer one-on-one consultations and personalized wellness programs. Each session is holistic — we explore nutrition, lifestyle, emotional balance, and daily rituals — creating realistic individualized plans that support long-term healing and self-awareness. My goal is to empower clients to become their own best healers.
What I find most fulfilling is witnessing transformation — when clients begin to feel better physically, emotionally, feel calmer and more connected to themselves. Ayurveda is ancient, yet incredibly relevant today; it reminds us how to live in rhythm with nature, listen to our bodies, and find peace in simplicity.
Beyond my private practice, I teach Ayurvedic workshops, both online and in person, on topics such as women’s health, menopause, hormonal balance, and seasonal wellness. I love sharing practical tools that help people bring this timeless wisdom into modern daily life.
I also lead international wellness retreats in India and Mexico that combine yoga, Ayurveda, and nature. These retreats offer time for rest, reflection, and renewal — experiences that often spark deep personal transformation.
Recently, I launched a line of Ayurvedic herbal teas made from organic ingredients to support digestion, calm the mind, and balance the doshas. I’m also developing an Ayurvedic Oracle Deck, an intuitive tool to help people connect with Ayurvedic principles through daily reflection and self-inquiry.
At the heart of my work is a simple intention: to help others find balance, vitality, and joy by aligning with their natural rhythm — one mindful choice at a time.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are curiosity, consistency, and compassion.
Curiosity was the spark that started everything. It led me from yoga into Ayurveda and keeps me learning even now. Ayurveda is such a vast and layered science — there’s always more to explore. My advice for anyone early in their journey is to stay curious. Don’t rush to “master” it; instead, allow the knowledge to unfold through your own experience. Read, study, but also live the teachings — that’s where true understanding happens.
Consistency has been something Ive been working on and it is the quiet force behind my growth. Whether it’s maintaining my own daily routine, staying connected to my practice, or showing up for my clients, consistency builds trust — both within yourself and with others. In Ayurveda, small, steady actions over time create the greatest transformation. For anyone starting out, I would say: it’s not about doing everything perfectly, it’s about showing up again and again, even in simple ways.
Compassion — for myself and for others — has probably been the most transformative. Working in wellness means holding space for people in their most vulnerable moments. It’s important to listen deeply, without judgment, and to also extend that same gentleness to yourself. The more compassion you cultivate inwardly, the more authentic and healing your work becomes.
Ultimately, the journey isn’t just about what you do — it’s about how you do it: with curiosity, patience, and an open heart. That’s what allows your work to become a living expression of who you are.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I love collaborating with other holistic practitioners. Healing is most powerful when it’s approached from multiple angles, and I believe in the beauty of community within the wellness world. I’m especially interested in connecting with massage therapists, energy healers, and practitioners of Ayurvedic body therapies.
My dream is to one day open an Ayurvedic wellness center — a space where people can come not only for consultations, but also for therapeutic treatments, workshops, and immersive healing experiences. I envision a place where ancient Ayurvedic wisdom meets modern wellness — a warm, nurturing environment that supports true mind-body restoration.
Collaboration feels essential to that vision. I see it as an opportunity to learn from one another, expand our offerings, and create something greater than what any one person could build alone. Working together, we can help people heal on all levels — physical, emotional, and spiritual — and make holistic wellness more accessible to our communities.
