Meet Polina

We were lucky to catch up with Polina recently and have shared our conversation below.

Polina, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

From early on, I realized that my confidence comes from knowledge and lived experience — from actually doing things and learning through trial and error. One of the biggest contributors to that confidence has been solo travel.

When you travel alone, you make every decision yourself. You learn to trust your instincts, stay in tune with your needs, and take full responsibility for both the challenges and the wins. That process builds a deep, quiet confidence — not the loud kind, but the kind that stays with you long after the trip ends.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

rocknroamgirl is my travel blog and photography brand, built from a deep desire to explore the world and capture its landscapes in a way that feels honest, immersive, and emotionally grounding. Through photography and storytelling, I share places as I experience them — not just how they look, but how they feel — with the hope of inspiring others to explore, slow down, and reconnect with both nature and themselves.

Alongside my own creative work, I collaborate with brands on content creation, crafting visuals and narratives that feel natural, intentional, and aligned with their identity. I love this side of my work because it allows me to blend creativity with strategy — tailoring content to each brand’s needs while staying true to my aesthetic and values.

What excites me most is creating work that feels meaningful rather than fleeting — content that sparks curiosity, encourages exploration, and tells a story that resonates long after it’s seen.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities shaped my journey the most: resilience, diligence, and passion.

Resilience taught me to keep going through ups and downs. I truly believe that if you don’t give up, you will reach what you set out to achieve.

Diligence is about consistency — progress takes time, small improvements add up, and meaningful results rarely happen overnight.

And passion is essential. What you pursue has to feel deeply meaningful, because passion is what keeps you moving forward when things get challenging.

My advice to anyone early in their journey: stay patient, stay consistent, and choose a path that genuinely excites you.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle has played a major role in my personal development. I first read it about seven years ago, and I’ve returned to it many times since. Each time, it reveals something new depending on where I am in life.

The most impactful lesson for me was learning how much of our stress and suffering comes from living anywhere but the present moment. The book helped me slow down, become more aware of my thoughts, and create space between what I feel and how I react.

It completely shifted how I navigate difficult moments, deepen my connection with myself, and approach self-growth with more compassion instead of pressure. More than anything, it taught me that peace isn’t something to chase — it’s something you access by being fully present.
