Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pooja Rathi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Pooja, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose during the pandemic when I lost my job. It was a tough time, but it pushed me to explore new skills. I started with content design, using Canva, but soon i realized I enjoy writing and creating strategic content more than designing. So, I shifted towards content strategy, where I could help businesses grow and get leads by crafting the right messages. That’s when I knew I had found my purpose—to help others succeed through effective content.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I run a DFY content strategy business where I help online service-based businesses build authority and generate leads on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram through content. My journey began in 2021 when I lost my job during the pandemic. I started with content design, selling design templates but as I gained more experience, I realised this was not for me and I transitioned into content strategy.
What excites me the most about what I do is the impact I can make. By creating tailored content strategies, I help businesses not just grow, but also build authority and attract inbound leads. Every brand has a unique story, and I love figuring out the best way to tell that story through social media.
Right now, I’m trying to build a better way to help business owners who want to take their content strategy to the next level without hiring anyone. So I’m creating a 6-week program to teach all the strategies that have helped my clients and me generate multiple leads and clients.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three most important qualities and skills in my journey have been:
1. Adaptability: When I started, I had to quickly learn new skills and pivot my approach based on what I was learning and the changing needs of my clients. Being flexible and open to change helped me stay relevant and effective. My advice is to embrace change and be willing to step out of your comfort zone. The ability to adapt will help you navigate challenges and seize new opportunities.
2. Strategic Thinking: Developing a solid strategy for content was crucial. It’s not just about creating content but understanding how it fits into a larger plan to achieve business goals. For those early in their journey, I’d recommend studying successful case studies and continuously learning about different strategies to see what works best in various contexts.
3. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is key, whether it’s with clients, audiences, or team members. Being able to convey ideas and feedback in a way that others can understand and act on is essential. To improve these skills, practice active listening, seek feedback on your communication style, and engage in regular writing and speaking exercises.
For anyone just starting out, focusing on these areas and seeking opportunities to develop them will make a big difference in your success and growth.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a service-based business owner who wants to build authority and generate leads through social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram). They might be just starting out, or they could be running a successful business but now lack the time to focus on lead generation and strategy, or they might be struggling to monetize their social media efforts.
The best clients are those who:
– Understand that organic strategies take time.
– Don’t chase after virality but focus on real results.
– Know what they are doing and who their target audience is.
– Respect my time and efforts.
Ideally, they have a clear vision of their business goals and are ready to take actionable steps to achieve them.
