Meet Precious Cash

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Precious Cash. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Precious below.

Precious, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Being the only one in the room, I’ve learned to be effective by first demonstrating integrity and communication to everyone I meet effectively. I’ve learned to be successful by never giving up on my heart’s desires, sharing my vision for my success to my peers & mentors, having a clear understanding of where I want to go in life, taking the steps to get there, and preparing myself to see what success looks like with hard work & dedication.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am now a Licensed Esthetician, which I’m so excited about becoming over the time it being a certified micro-blading & lash artist. What’s so special about being a esthetician is how far I can go. I can expand my talents and specialized services. I’m beyond proud that I never gave up on my goals and actually pursuing them and remaining self disciplined throughout my journey. It took a lot of sacrificing, long nights of studying, tears, obstacles, pushing myself to keep going, and self sustaining. I still have the same brand name, but just added “ Beauty and Aesthetics” to it. Although I’ve stepped away for a moment to enhance my skill set and now earned another credential as a licensed esthetician, that was the biggest sacrifice I had to make to become that. I stepped away from my business because I wanted to have so many more services to offer men and women to help them feel good inside and out. Now I’m more equipped to offer the beauty industry everything in my arsenal as soon as I give birth and acclimate to my new life as a wife and mother of three and a highly skilled beauty professional.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I think the three qualities of being an esthetician and most impactful in my journey was always being compassionate and empathetic with people, being a good listener because you have people who need a ear to just hear them, and always remaining with a professional behavior & attitude. The advice I have for people who are early in their journey in terms of how to develop or improve on their areas of knowledge and skills is to always work on your communication skills, always be detailed oriented and efficient, practice on your cleanliness, always be genuine, you have to be thick skinned, and remain positive. Don’t ever be afraid to bring out your creativity. Let your light shine.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My instructor/mentor was the most helpful in helping me overcome challenges I faced throughout school, she helped me remember why I was there and what to aim for and to go out there get it. She helped me build and develop skills I was afraid to face but I did it and became better at it as time went on. All the qualities & knowledge that I needed to be successful she pushed me. She was very hard on me, I always accepted the constructive criticism she gave me, the motivation every morning, and the skills she taught me to gain more certifications along with my license. I appreciate her for being such a great soul. I feel like she’s heaven sent.
