Meet Prince Studstill

We were lucky to catch up with Prince Studstill recently and have shared our conversation below.

Prince, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Thank you so much for having me today and kicking us off with this great question. I get my work ethic from a long generation of hard workers from both sides of my family. Starting with my grandparents they were so instrumental in creating the idea of working hard with attainable goals to achieve. My Mother and Father have always exemplified a powerful work ethic and they took every opportunity to instill that into me early on. The start of my work ethic came from my family pushing me to higher education to open the doors for more opportunities.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’am the CEO and Founder of Haus of Prince, LLC where we create fresh and hand-made organic body butters. We take great pride in knowing all of our products support sustainability while healing every skin texture we treat. This year as been such a high point for my brand as we have hosted various events, volunteered at local schools for college and career day, and most importantly created a space for every customer to feel empowered in the skin their in.

We are very excited for our Q4 planning as we will be launching three new body butters for fall and holiday season. Our fall launch is in recognition to our male counterparts. We want to show love to the “classic man” that wants to feel good and smell good when they go out into society. My favorite launch will be for the holidays as we release our seasonal product called “Pep in ya step.” As we close out 2024 we are ecstatic to see what our customers think and looking forward to their reviews.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Thats a great question I believe the three qualities that it took for me to get here today was adaptability, discernment and faith. In this industry it’s come with a lot of ups and downs getting my brand off the ground but staying planted in those essential qualities helped fuel me to go further.

My advice to anyone in the early stages of their journey is that first you must trust yourself and the process. Being able to adapt to change and remain open to receiving it definitely isn’t an easy task. I’ve had to learn how to pivot in order to get the best outcome when changes are out of my control. Which leads me to discernment because you need that in place when it comes to decision making. Listen to your gut feeling and pay attention to your reactions to circumstances that arise to try and hold you back. Lastly the most important would be to keep your faith higher than your problems because thats how you win. Have Faith in yourself that you have the proper tools and resources, faith that everything will come to life in the best way, and faith that God will always take care of you throughout the journey.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

Becoming a business owner has been so rewarding but its also come with a lot of trials. When I was creating Haus of Prince in the beginning stages I was frequently overwhelmed by so many things. I was striving to reach for perfection that I left no room for error in order for me to learn and grow from it. Looking back on everything I placed a lot of unnecessary stress on myself instead of enjoying the process.

My advice for anyone in this similar situation would be first to LET GO! Let go of the stress, anxiety, ego, and overwhelming need to be perfect. You have already been called to your purpose just focus on being excellent at your craft the results will follow. I would also add to plan time for yourself to remove the hat of always being in charge or in control that you still are in touch with yourself at the core. What makes me feel better when I’m feeling overwhelmed is being around my community that loves me, saying my daily affirmations to ease the stress, and of course as a skin care lover a pamper party or self care day always does the trick.
