Meet Princess Banks

We recently connected with Princess Banks and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Princess , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my faith, my upbringing, and my determination to succeed no matter what.

Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, I learned early on how to navigate challenges, adapt, and push through adversity. My parents and family instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and believing in myself even when others doubted me.

My journey in media hasn’t been easy, but my faith keeps me grounded. I trust that every setback is just a setup for a greater comeback. I’ve faced rejection, doors closing, and moments of uncertainty, but I’ve learned to keep going, stay focused, and create my own opportunities.

I refuse to let fear, doubt, or other people’s opinions dictate my success. If there’s no blueprint, I’ll build my own. Resilience is about getting back up every time you fall, and that’s exactly what I do. I remind myself why I started, and I keep pushing forward.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a media correspondent, host, and entrepreneur dedicated to creating spaces that uplift, connect, and inspire. Whether I’m on the red carpet interviewing celebrities, moderating panels, or hosting networking events, my goal is always to bring authenticity, energy, and meaningful conversations to every platform.

What excites me most about my work is the ability to tell stories that matter. I love shining a light on entrepreneurs, creatives, and cultural moments that deserve recognition. There’s something powerful about being in the room where impactful conversations happen and ensuring that voices, especially Black voices, are heard and celebrated.

In addition to media hosting, I curate networking events that provide a safe space for entrepreneurs, business owners, and creatives to connect, share resources, and collaborate. I’m also gearing up for Season 2 of CEO Confessions Show on YouTube, where I dive deeper into the realities of entrepreneurship, sharing raw, unfiltered conversations about the journey to success.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding my brand through more interviews, partnerships, and media opportunities. I’m also working on new collaborations that will allow me to amplify more stories, create impactful conversations, and continue building a platform that inspires and empowers others. There are some exciting projects in the works, and I can’t wait to share what’s next!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were resilience, networking, and adaptability.

1. Resilience – The media industry comes with a lot of rejection, uncertainty, and obstacles, but I’ve learned that persistence is key. Every closed door led me to a better opportunity. For those just starting out, my advice is to develop thick skin and stay committed to your vision, even when things don’t go as planned. Keep pushing forward, learn from setbacks, and trust the process.

2. Networking & Relationship Building – Opportunities in this industry often come from who you know just as much as what you know. Building genuine relationships has opened so many doors for me. My advice for beginners is to attend events, reach out to people in your industry, and always add value to your connections. Be intentional about who you surround yourself with and nurture those relationships over time.

3. Adaptability & Learning – The industry is always evolving, and staying relevant means being open to learning and growing. Whether it’s social media trends, new technology, or shifting audience preferences, being adaptable has allowed me to stay ahead. I encourage those starting out to remain teachable, invest in self-education, and be willing to pivot when needed.

Success doesn’t happen overnight, but by focusing on these qualities, you can build a strong foundation for a lasting career. Stay focused, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to bet on yourself!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely! I’m always looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals and brands that align with my mission of creating impactful conversations, elevating voices, and building community.

I’m particularly interested in partnering with media professionals, publicists, entrepreneurs, event organizers, videographers and brands that focus on storytelling, empowerment, and culture. Whether it’s for interviews, media coverage, brand partnerships, panel discussions, or networking events, I’m open to working with those who bring value, creativity, and authenticity to the table.
