Meet Priscilla Caballero

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Priscilla Caballero. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Priscilla, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I first discovered my purpose in my 20s, although I’ve had a heart of helping others all my life, it wasn’t until about four years ago, after surviving and walking away from an abusive relationship, that I began living in it fully. That turning point in my life became my catalyst for change. I was simply grateful to be alive, and I made a promise to myself to use that second chance to help others.

Today, I work directly with women who are survivors of domestic violence in a shelter setting, offering them the support, resources, and encouragement I once needed myself. I also serve on the Fourth Judicial Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team here in Minnesota, where we work to help prevent future deaths caused by domestic violence. This work is personal and powerful, it’s where healing meets purpose.

Through the business I co-own, KP Empowered Solutions, I also teach financial education to underserved communities, helping individuals build credit, gain financial stability, and learn how to break generational cycles of poverty. As a housing specialist, I help families navigate crisis situations to avoid eviction and homelessness, ensuring they have access to the resources and support systems they need.

Helping people get to the next level in life whether emotionally, financially, or physically is not just what I do, it’s who I am. That’s how I know I’ve found my purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At KP Empowered Solutions, we are more than just a financial education company, we’re a movement for change, access, and empowerment in communities that are often overlooked or underserved. Our mission is to meet people exactly where they are in life, whether they are experiencing homelessness or launching their first business, we help provide them with the tools, education, and resources to elevate and transform their future.

We specialize in financial literacy, credit building, business development, and funding support. But what makes us truly unique is how deeply we care about people and their stories. We are passionate about helping those who don’t know where to start — we are their starting point.

Currently, we’re expanding in exciting ways. We’re working on new company development projects, supporting entrepreneurs from concept to launch. That includes app development ventures, music artist development programs, and even integrating the Housing Stabilization Service program into our platform, a major step in ensuring holistic support for those facing housing instability.

Our creativity and passion for impact fuel our work. We are always developing our next big idea while helping others fulfill theirs.

An event we are tabling at coming up August 14th, we are thrilled to be apart of with our partners is The Pathways to Homeownership with The Parker House Group, Minnesota Housing, Rondo Community Land Trust, PPL, PRG, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Movement Mortgage, and many more. Together, we’re bringing critical resources to the community from housing education to real pathways for generational wealth.

We’re also proud to share that within our first year in business, KP Empowered Solutions has established partnerships and expanded our impact across all 50 states. A milestone that reflects the real need for what we do and the trust our communities place in us.

The journey began December 2022 and still arising. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead, and even more excited about the lives we’ll continue to uplift and empower along the way.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, resourcefulness, and financial literacy. Resilience – Life will throw curveballs, and your ability to get back up after setbacks will define your path. I learned this firsthand after surviving domestic violence and rebuilding my life from the ground up. Resilience gave me the strength to turn pain into purpose and become a voice for others.
Resourcefulness – You don’t always need everything figured out or every door open, but you do need to know how to find solutions. I became a master at connecting people to the right resources, whether it was housing, financial help, or business support. This is a skill that anyone can build by simply asking questions, staying curious, and using what you have until you get what you need.
Financial Literacy – This has been a game-changer. Understanding money, credit, and business has helped me not only change my own life but empower others to build theirs. This is why I co-founded KP Empowered Solutions, to make sure the people who need this knowledge the most finally have access.

Advice for those starting out:
Don’t wait to feel ready. Start where you are and stay committed to learning. Embrace challenges as lessons, find mentors, and never underestimate the power of consistency. The right mindset paired with the right information will take you further than you can imagine.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

I am incredibly grateful for the support and mentorship we received from WomenVenture of Minnesota. Their guidance played a critical role in the early development of our company. The mentorship they provided gave us not only structure, but also the confidence to grow and lead in spaces where representation and resources are often needed.

A special thank you goes to our mentors Jerry and Allecia Goins of Goins Financial, who have been instrumental in our journey. Their mentorship went beyond just teaching us financial literacy, they welcomed us onto their team of success and helped us elevate our vision through real-world business strategies and access to resources. Their belief in us and their leadership has made a lasting impact.

In addition to these foundational supports, I’ve also taken countless masterclasses to ensure that I continue to grow, not only for myself but so that I can replicate this success and pour it back into others who are just getting started. Every lesson I’ve learned, I now teach, and that cycle of empowerment is what truly fuels our mission.
