We recently connected with Priscille Lors and have shared our conversation below.
Priscille , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
That is exactly how you learn to be effective and successful, by being the only one in the room who looks like you!
Standing out and being different is something that you should embrace because that is what brings people to you!
Your uniqueness is significant to who you are and who God made you to be as an individual for the specific purpose he has called you for.
There is a reason why each individual has a unique fingerprint that identifies who they are specifically because it’s in distinctiveness that helps identify who you are as a person.
Growing up as a Pastor’s child even among my siblings people would always call me weird and different and I didn’t understand why. I hated it when people made me feel different.
However, as I got older and understood who I was more in Christ, God began to tell me and show me who I am by revealing to me that everything I have been through in my life sets me apart and makes me different. This is because I am the only one who can do what he has prepared for me to do! I even went to a school named “Uncommon Charter.” How is that a coincidence?
Everything about being set apart and being the only one that looks like me has been written all over my life! This helped me embrace my uniqueness and distinctiveness that others couldn’t understand! Now look at where I am and God is taking me!
This just goes to show never allow people to make you feel like you are not worth anything or that something is wrong with you! Embrace who are you as an individual because your uniqueness sets you apart and helps make room for success!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Priscille Lors!
I am a Makeup Artist, YouTuber, Speaker, & competently rounded entrepreneur!
My makeup artistry brand is called “PurposefulBeats” and my slogan is “To Beautify is to Edify!”
Makeup is not just a way for me to make money but has always been a passion of mine. I want my work to be my passion and be my ministry where I can edify my clients because again “To Beautify is To Edify”
What that implies is Beauty is not only about the outer appearance, but the inner spiritual work that is needed to be done within yourself which is reflected through how you treat others and your character as an individual. This can also be shown through your physical appearance. I want to help edify women so that they can feel beautiful outwardly and Inwardly
Leaving a legacy is leaving an impact on people and you do that by the way you make them feel, and the experience you give them when servicing them.
As a service provider, I want to also serve people in a spiritual sense. This enables me to build genuine connections with people I profit from. God calls us to use our gifts and build our legacy off of him so that it can stand firm and that is through authentic fellowship.
There is a purpose in what I do and I want it to be known!
Alongside, I wear many other hats! I am not only a makeup artist but a Faith-Based Creator and Speaker. I have a YouTube channel which is the ultimate destination for all things Jesus, Beauty, and Lifestyle. We uncover the secrets to finding & living in your purpose through Jesus, while also exploring the latest beauty trends!
My platform is a safe space & a growing community of powerful, & impactful women. Everyone is welcome to learn, & grow spiritually while connecting & sharing with others their passion for beauty and self-care.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Put God First and allot God to prune and cultivate your gift
2. Invest time and money in your skill set and passion
3. Be Teachable because you can learn from anyone!
4. Be wise about the risks you take and let go of fear
5. Set a good foundation by saving money so that you’ll have resources to invest in what you wanna do
6. Don’t be quick to attach other people to your purpose not everyone is going where you’re going.
Always put God first in whatever you do, ask him for wisdom and guidance, on how to maneuver in what he wants you to do so that you can take the proper risk in wisdom.
Make sure you’re setting a good foundation for what you want to do so you can be able to invest in that
You do this by saving your money and connecting with others
Allow yourself to be teachable and learn from anyone no matter who it is so that you can always improve and get better at what you do
Whoever is reading this I heard God say that “Wisdom is investing, perfecting and being strengthened in the things you are called for not the things that make you money and you do this by removing old things in your life ,”
Whatever you are doing, that’s making you a lot of money. It doesn’t make you happy because you’re not doing what you’re called to do and there’s no purpose behind it because God is not involved.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to collaborate with so many brands that I use daily with my hair and as a makeup artist, I would also love to collaborate with individuals that align with my vision and goals.
My goal as a Makeup artist is to do makeup for big names in the beauty industry!
As a Makeup professional, I use Makeup & skincare products daily. I would want to work with beauty brands such as NARS, Born This Way, e.l.f., topicals, Maybelline, The Ordinary, Drunk Elephant, Glow Recipe and so much more!
As a 4A textured curly-haired girl I would work with Hair brands that I use on a day-to-day basis such as Mielle Organics, Aunt Jackie’s, and Fructis
Alongside I have a bougie, girly & chic sense of style so clothing brands such as Fashion Nova, Pretty Little Thing, Zara, and Nike, would be cool to work with!
As far as collaborations with other people, that is something I look forward to I would love to collaborate with women who have good intentions to Foster communities that are all about women and don’t just talk about women’s empowerment but are really about woman empowerment! I want to work with women that want to see others win and surpass them. I do not condone mean girl energy!
I would want to collaborate with women who love to uplift the name of Jesus while helping other women find their purpose! I need Women who can help my vision come to life by creating events and safe spaces for women and even men!
