Meet Priya Gokhale

We recently connected with Priya Gokhale and have shared our conversation below.

Priya, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
My parents have always taught me to be a giver and kind person, and I have spent my childhood in a small town where people were caring and valued feelings. My generosity comes from the values I acquired my parents and from my home town.

In today’s time people are too practical and stressed, mostly because of the experiences they had in their life. I could find those differences in people after I moved to big cities for study and work.

However, it is important to be compassionate, no matter what, to live a positive life. I believe, as an individual each person has to solve their problems by itself. I can not solve their problem, but I can offer some help. When I thought to do something for people, I started sharing my thoughts and tips through my blog (www.priyagokhale.com) and YouTube channel.

Also, fortunately I am married to a Kind man, who always supports me in the good and bad times. He too is the source of my generosity.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hello all, I am a singer, writer, speaker and educator.

My musical journey started at the age of 05 years in a small town called Guna in India, where I started learning vocals from my guru(mentor) Geeta Joshi and performing Bollywood songs on Stage with my band. Later, I learned more in vocals from my guru Vinod Bhatnagar. After completing my schooling, I moved to bigger cities for further studies and work, where I continued giving singing performances and learning vocals. Even now, I am continuing learning more in vocals from my guru Mrs Vandana Ravalallu.

I do musical events like concerts, weddings, garbha-dandiya and festivals events in the USA and India. I sing songs in various languages that includes Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu and English. I like to teach and so I share my knowledge by teaching Indian classical and light music vocals.

I am collaborated with non-profit organization called SAIVA, where I provide free music coaching to the old seniors members of the organization. It is a pleasure to see them enjoying learning and receiving their blessings.

What I love about music is that, it takes you to the world of imagination and adds lots of positivity in the life. To me being on stage, singing and experiencing the magic of music is the most amazing feeling. If you are an artist or a music lover you can relate with this.

I believe that life is not only about success, but also about sharing and giving it back to the community. I realized that the world needs people who can help other people to overcome their problems in life. I followed my inner voice to be the help, and I started sharing my thoughts and tips on my blog (www.priyagokhale.com), YouTube channel and social media accounts. My mission is to “empower people”, and my vision is “to help universe in making this world a beautiful place to live in”. The most exciting thing about inspirational speaking is people can relate it with their day to day life, it connects me with people across the world who visits my content, send messages or comment. I am happy to receive a very good response from people on my content.

Being a hard-working person, I constantly work on being a better artist and a better human being!

I am open to ideas, collaborations and opportunities with people in music, inspiration, and creative field whether it is an individual, a business or a non-profits organization.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My top three skills would be:

Learning Vocals from my mentors.

Learning Public speaking skills in Toastmasters International Club.

Being an organized, planning my work, and being persistent are some of the most important skills that I learned.

I will advise those who are just starting in the creative field or in any other field to have a mentor. For pursuing any career, or hobby you need to know the techniques and for learning techniques you need the training from a mentor. Mentor can guide you in learning the basics to advance techniques, your areas of improvement and the best ways to do it. Joining relevant courses and getting a proper training will definitely help you to achieve your goals.

Also, I will advice everyone, to keep learning to be better in your work and at the same time constantly work on being a better human.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, definitely! I am looking to work with artists in any genre of music, music companies to partner with, people in creative field, bloggers, podcasters and inspirational speakers to collaborate with and companies looking for influencers.
