We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Priyanshi Jain a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Priyanshi, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism stems from a mixture of my passion for design and the positive impact I’ve witnessed through my work over the years. Each project has its own set of challenges, but overcoming these and seeing the transformation not only in spaces but in how individuals interact with these redesigned environments is significantly fulfilling. This continuous renewal and positive feedback loop from clients and their satisfaction increases my belief that good design can create a real difference.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an architect and interior designer, I lead a design firm that focuses on creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and sustainable. Our main focus is on residential and commercial projects where we can bring a unique combination of modern design principles and customization to meet our client’s needs. What excites me most about this work is the opportunity to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary environments that improve everyday living and working experiences for people.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Technical proficiency and Design sensibility- Creating a strong foundation in the technical aspects of architecture and a keen eye for design have enabled me to build functional and aesthetically compelling spaces. This balance is necessary in transforming creative visions into real-world solutions that meet client needs.
Adaptability and continuous learning- The field of architecture is rapidly changing, with new materials, client demands, and technologies. Being adaptable and committed to lifelong learning has enabled me to stay relevant and innovative.
Communication and collaboration skills- Effective communication and the ability to collaborate with a myriad of stakeholders, including clients, team members, and contractors have been transformational. These skills make sure that ideas are conveyed clearly, projects run smoothly, and client expectations are met.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Throughout my journey, several individuals have played major roles in helping me overcome challenges and develop the necessary skill set for success. One person who particularly stands out is my mentor during my early days in the industry. She was a great architect who not only guided me through the technical complexities of our field but also taught me the significance of resilience and adaptability in a profession that is as demanding as it is rewarding.
