Meet QLOUDi 🦋

We recently connected with QLOUDi 🦋 and have shared our conversation below.

Hi QLOUDi, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Honestly just doing it without fear of judgement. I’ve struggled with being insecure all my life I just said I’m not gonna let that fear of judgement and insecurity stop be from trying to make my dreams a reality. Someone will always have something negative to say, that’s just how life is. You can’t let that stop you from trying to reach your goals and making your dream a reality.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a melodic rapper from Adelphi Maryland. I like to say I’m a singer since I sing more than I rap but I’ll just stick with melodic rapper. I’ve been making music since 2020 and have recently started to find my sound and growing my audience. I’ve been passionate about music since I was young, always knowing the lyrics to songs and people asking me how did I learn them. When I was young, I never saw myself making music myself, but I always been passionate about it whether it was playing the trombone in fifth grade, dressing like prince Royce or trying to dance like Michael Jackson. I never saw myself playing the trombone forever, but I knew that I always wanted to do something in music I just wasn’t sure what. Then when 2020 came around I was very deep into $uicideBoy$ and logic so I was like “you know what I’m gonna give it a shot” and it was pretty bad at first but eventually I started gaining the confidence to put my first song out which was also pretty bad but it was very boombap, logic, early hip-hop type of sound, but eventually I just kept going on with it and here I am.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

3 things that were most impactful in my journey were Consistency, self confidence, and resilience. No matter what I always kept working even if the outcome wasn’t what I wanted. Even if I felt like I was cringe for wanting to be a rapper, I still believed in myself and believed I can make this a reality and my career. Not letting negativity bring me down and make me want to give up, I kept showing up, I kept pushing through those negative thoughts and I’m still pushing today.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

I am recently 2 months clean. If you listen to my music I speak a lot about addiction and substance abuse. I’ve recently overcame that obstacle. I’m currently working on trying to stop isolating since that’s what I’ve become so used to. Everything I speak about in my music is true. So I’m in a position where I’m searching for something I have yet to find the answer for, but like I said before, I won’t give up like I didn’t give up when those thoughts of giving up music creeped up. If you’re dealing with the same thing, reach out for help, I promise it’ll be worth it.
