Meet Quanda R Graves

We were lucky to catch up with Quanda R Graves recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Quanda, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from a born disposition. Naturally inherited, immersed with the spirit of the Lord. I’ve endured some hard trials and profound pain, but I have always had the ability to see the silver lining in every cloud. Aside from birth, I seek the Lord often and this is due to my mother. She’s always explained that having your own close relation with the Lord increases a certain happiness and peace. Along with an enlightenment to make it through. If that makes sense. So, this is where my optimism comes from.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Quanda R. Graves, lovingly known as Until. I am an author, poet, journalist, and business owner. However, I’ve recently been moved to think of myself as a creative inspirationalist. I work to provide motivation, encouragement and inspiration through any creative medium I see fit. This is how my company QS Simple Treasures & Greetings LLC (QS) came about. I indulge in a sundry of things but they all stem from my one true passion, writing.

So, I created a brand of my creativity and it draws all who value you the same things as I do. Eclectic entities like, love, happiness, and peace, the joy in gift giving, thoughtfulness, compassion, inventing, fun, coffee, tea, writing and more. QS Simple Treasures & Greetings LLC (QS) is a company that hosts books, greeting card collections, framed art, t-shirts, Oolong Tea, etc. All from my design. Unique and creative retail, and you know what’s special about QS, aside from the products? It’s not holiday driven.

Our motto: You don’t need a holiday to celebrate a loved one or yourself.

Our Simple Treasures (what we call our customers) love our products. Our Why Don’t Bright Ideas Love Series greeting card collection was featured in Heart London Magazine in 2018, our I’m Sorry The Art greeting card collection is currently being housed at The Gaming Store in Bellflower, CA. Last but not at all least, one of our most popular products, Dreams Are Meant To Be Lived Oolong Tea composed of Strawberry, Peppermint and Jasmine, was featured in Cuisine Noir Food & Lifestyle Magazine in 2020.

The hard work gone into this, really doesn’t feel like work, it’s my natural habitat. A gift that keeps on giving. In 2021 I was nominated for the LA Business Journal Women’s Leadership Award and in 2022 I won the The Luminary Award from USC Marshall School of Business. Oh, and I’m just getting started. I’m working to warm hearts, induce smiles, and spark inspiration all over the world.

I find nothing more fulfilling than having a vision, executing it and it being welcomed by the world. QS has allowed me to brand my passion, which is just me, simply put, a poet with products. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities, skills or areas of knowledge that was most impactful in my journey are the following, self-confidence, humility and being open to learn. The best advice I can give to people early on their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on said qualities? Learn yourself to know your likes and dislikes, this way you’ll know and understand your strengths and weaknesses and that will put you ahead of the competition and help you work to become a better person everyday.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
There is a particular challenge I’m currently facing. That challenge is scaling my business. There are so many moving pieces and they play an important role, but scaling requires focus and collaboration with the right people. This is what I’m seeking help in.
