We caught up with the brilliant and insightful QV Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
QV , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose in prayer. The easiest question to ask me is always what can I not do because I can do almost everything. The downside of being multi-talented and skillful is that all hearts are not pure. People have bad intentions everyday whether we want to admit it or not. Prayer keeps me on the right path. I am a generous person. I will help people before I help myself. Constantly staying grounded in God protects me from foolishness. I also had to learn that purpose isn’t unidirectional. You have to be full of purpose and plan wherever you are in life. Make good use of every situations, not just the ones that seem the most beneficial to you at the moment!

My name is QV Thomas. I do a whole lot. First I am a mom of a special needs child. After that, I’m a minister, educator, author, and an advocate for children with special needs. I am an Atlanta native living in the suburbs at the moment. I’ve compiled my whole life into All Things QV. I make food and drink, candles, bath and body care products, and jewelry for the most part. I also do graphic design, resumes, ghost writing, publication writing, labeling, clerical work, file and data organization, business formulation and planning, and proofreading. The one thing that I think everyone should know about me is that I want everyone to succeed and that I am willing to help in any way I can to help get them there. I don’t believe in gatekeeping and I don’t live in a crab bucket. We can all eat and teamwork makes dreams work. I think we could get more accomplished if we collaborated more than we compete with one another. We all have things that compliment one another so why not share. We can all come up together. I aspire to inspire people to be their best self. Live life at max capacity unapologetically!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
-Being open and honest: No one likes to be deceived. Always give your audience your authentic self.
-Don’t give into optics: Everything that looks good isn’t always good. Focus on what you are trying to build for yourself at all times.
– Maximize your capacity: Always do something and learning something. Never be above learning, criticism, or reproach!
