Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Darden. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence is tied to knowing who I am in Christ. My relationship with Him is the foundation on which I set everything else. Knowing that He goes before me and orders my steps gives me the confidence to achieve my goals in life. I also have a great support system that uplifts me and cheers me on along the way.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a creative director for a natural hair care brand. I love the work that I do because I enjoy helping women learn about their natural hair and I get to do it in a creative way! I also love to create content that people can connect with. I’m also a founder of a women’s community, Chosen By Grace. We’ll be hosting curated online events each quarter this year.. These events will be centered around resting and spiritual growth. Join us at @cbg115
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1.My advice would be to let go of the negative self-talk. Everybody is a beginner at something. It’s uncomfortable at first but you’ll get the hang of it later.
2. Stay teachable. You don’t know everything. With they don’t be afraid to ask for help. Every great person has a mentor.
3. Learn how to develop relationships with people. It makes it easier to get clients because you don’t have to sell yourself.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The book I loved is “The Magic of Thinking Big”. It’s all about mindfulness and it gives great perspectives on how to see the bigger picture in a lot of situations.
