Meet Rachel Flores

We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Flores recently and have shared our conversation below.

Rachel, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

My journey to confidence and self-esteem has been deeply intertwined with my path to sobriety and powerlifting. I’ve been sober since January 4, 2016, and that decision has been one of the most empowering choices of my life. Sobriety taught me resilience and self-awareness, helping me understand my strengths and weaknesses. It also gave me the clarity to pursue my passions, like starting my business, Rachel Gets It Done.

Powerlifting has been another transformative force in my life. There’s something incredibly empowering about lifting heavy weights and pushing beyond your limits. It’s a constant reminder that I’m stronger than I think, both physically and mentally. Lifting weights and running my business have become outlets for my energy and creativity, allowing me to channel my efforts into positive and productive pursuits.

These experiences, coupled with the support of a strong community, have been instrumental in building my confidence. They remind me that true self-esteem comes from embracing who you are, flaws and all, and celebrating the journey to becoming your best self. Today, I proudly share my story, hoping to inspire others who might be struggling, reminding them that it’s never too late to turn your life around and find your true calling.

Building self-esteem also involves doing esteemable acts, and part of that is giving back to the community. I’ve found that contributing to causes I’m passionate about, like the Heavy Breathing Foundation and the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle, has been incredibly fulfilling. It not only helps others but also reinforces my own sense of purpose and self-worth. Giving back is a powerful way to grow both personally and professionally, and it’s something I strive to incorporate into my life and business.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I run Rachel Gets It Done, where I specialize in business operations consulting and social media management. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to help entrepreneurs and small business owners streamline their processes, optimize efficiency, and amplify their online presence. I love blending my passion for organization and creativity, bringing a unique perspective as a powerlifter and a sober entrepreneur.

Currently, I’m focused on expanding my services to include comprehensive brand strategy and identity development. This new offering aims to help clients build a cohesive and authentic brand, from visual identity to social media strategy. It’s an exciting time, as we’re also planning to launch a Canva Basics course, designed to empower business owners to create stunning visuals without needing a design background.

In everything I do, I strive to make business feel less like a chore and more like an adventure. Whether it’s helping a client develop their brand or strategize their next social media campaign, I’m all about making the process fun and engaging.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Resilience: My journey hasn’t been smooth sailing, but resilience has been key. Overcoming challenges, especially in sobriety, has strengthened my resolve. For those starting out, remember that setbacks are part of the journey. Embrace them, learn from them, and keep pushing forward.
2. Adaptability: Being able to pivot and adapt has been crucial, especially in a constantly changing business landscape. For newcomers, stay open to learning and evolving. Don’t be afraid to try new things, even if they take you out of your comfort zone.
3. Curiosity: My love for problem-solving and learning has driven me to explore new areas, from business operations to social media strategies. For those early in their journey, cultivate a curious mindset. Always ask questions and seek out new knowledge. This will help you grow both personally and professionally.

Advice:
For anyone starting out, focus on building these qualities by taking on challenges, being open to change, and always staying curious. Surround yourself with supportive people and resources, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Most importantly, be kind to yourself as you navigate your journey.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely, I’m always excited to explore new collaborations, especially within a community of strong, entrepreneurial women! I love working with like-minded individuals who are passionate about innovation and authenticity. Whether you’re a business owner looking to streamline operations, a social media enthusiast, or someone with a unique perspective, I’m all about creating meaningful projects that inspire and uplift.

I’m particularly drawn to partnerships that empower women and foster a sense of community. Whether it’s developing a new brand strategy, crafting engaging content, or exploring unique business perspectives, I believe in the power of collaboration to create something extraordinary.

If you’re interested in teaming up or even just connecting over a cup of coffee, let’s do it! You can reach out through my website or find me on Instagram and LinkedIn. Let’s make magic happen together!
