We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachel Jeanty. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachel below.
Hi Rachel , so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
For me, self-care starts with prioritizing my mental health. I’ve learned to take breaks when necessary to avoid burnout—especially as an entrepreneur, it’s easy to get caught up in the grind. But stepping back allows me to reset and come back stronger. I love taking walks, listening to music (it’s truly my therapy), and making time to work out. Movement and music help clear my mind and keep me grounded.
Of course, I also indulge in the very services my company, Reserved and Polished, offers—massages, facials, and nail care are not just luxuries, they’re rituals that help me feel restored and recharged. When I feel good, I show up better—more focused, more creative, and more present. Self-care isn’t optional for me; it’s the foundation of my effectiveness and longevity in business and life.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m Rachel Jeanty, founder of Reserved and Polished—a mobile wellness and beauty company that brings nontoxic nail care, facials, and massages directly to clients in NYC and Jersey City. I created this brand to make high-quality, restorative self-care both accessible and intentional—because wellness shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be a lifestyle.
What excites me most is helping people carve out time to feel good, inside and out. Our services aren’t just about beauty—they’re rooted in wellness, presence, and feeling your best. Whether it’s a quick hand massage or a curated spa experience, we’re all about helping people reset in the middle of their day.
In addition to our one-on-one services, we host mobile spa events for corporate wellness programs, residential activations, and community-based experiences that bring people together through intentional pampering. We’re currently expanding our presence in Jersey City with a pop-up series and building new partnerships with local businesses, hotels, and senior living facilities.
We’re also growing The Shop—our online store filled with curated self-care products to extend the experience at home.
Reserved and Polished is more than a service—it’s a movement toward thoughtful, elevated self-care. And we’re just getting started.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three things have been especially impactful in my journey: resilience, intentionality, and self-awareness.
Resilience has carried me through moments of uncertainty, pivots, and challenges that come with building something from the ground up. It’s the quiet strength that kept me moving even when things didn’t look clear yet. For anyone starting out, understand that setbacks aren’t the end—they’re part of your process. Keep going, even when you don’t feel 100% ready.
Intentionality has guided every decision I make—from the type of services Reserved and Polished offers to the energy I want clients to feel when they interact with the brand. Don’t just do things to check a box—know why you’re doing them. Align your actions with your values and your vision, and that clarity will open doors.
Self-awareness has been key, especially when leading a brand rooted in wellness. You have to know when to rest, when to delegate, and when you’re getting in your own way. My advice? Get comfortable with reflection. Check in with yourself often, and allow your growth to inform your path—not your fears.
The journey isn’t linear. But if you lead with purpose, stay grounded, and trust yourself, you’ll always find your way back to what matters.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, I pause—intentionally. I’ve learned that pushing through without checking in with myself only leads to burnout. So instead, I give myself permission to slow down, even if just for a moment. That could mean stepping away to take a walk, listening to music that grounds me, or creating space to breathe and reset. Those small rituals—my personal therapy—help me reconnect to my why and return with clarity.
I also check in with my boundaries. Overwhelm is often a signal that something’s misaligned—either I’ve taken on too much, or I’m not honoring what I need in that moment. It’s a cue, not a weakness.
My advice: don’t ignore the signals. Build in pauses, protect your peace, and know that rest is a strategy, not a setback. You can’t pour into others—or into your business—when your own cup is empty. The real power is knowing when to refill it.
