We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Noble, MSM recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rachel, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I remember being a child that was bullied by girls my age and I could never really figure out why. I would cry almost every day to my mom asking what could I do to gain better self esteem of myself. After an extensive look at myself in the mirror, I built my self-esteem through a combination of internal and external factors. Internally, positive self-talk, setting and achieving personal goals, and engaging in activities that fostered a sense of accomplishment and self-worth were crucial for me. Externally, supportive relationships with family and friends, receiving positive feedback and encouragement, and participating in communities or groups where I felt accepted and valued. Once I began to do this I noticed I was able to significantly enhance my confidence and self-esteem. Additionally, engaging in physical activities or hobbies that I enjoyed was good at helped build my confidence. As I became older, it was important for me to learn to how to critically evaluate societal and media-driven standards of beauty and success, developing a healthy body image and self-concept independent of these often unrealistic expectations. I thought it was important for me educate myself on emotional intelligence, resilience, and coping strategies for dealing with failure or criticism. Once I realized I was THAT GIRL, nothing or no one could stop me..
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Business, equipping me with a robust foundation to guide and mentor others. For the past two decades, I have honed my leadership and entrepreneurial skills as the CEO of a successful business, which I proudly co-manage with my husband. My expertise in etiquette goes well beyond the conventional wisdom found in books; it is a culmination of formal training and real-life experiences. I leverage my extensive background in business and my in-depth understanding of social graces to offer a program that is unparalleled. With the For Noble Women etiquette platform, Women who choose to invest in my program are not just learning etiquette; they are gaining access to a reservoir of knowledge, experience, and a commitment to excellence that I bring to every session. I am dedicated to providing an outstanding opportunity for growth, empowerment, and refinement, helping women navigate their personal, marital and professional lives with poise and confidence.
For Noble Women Charm School program fully helps women become their best selves all around. Therefore, I’ve created a course women can download and take full advantage of on their own. In addition, parents can also expect an online program launching Spring 2024 for their teens to learn about etiquette, manners, job preparation and polishing themselves. All skills needed to prepare for pageants, life experiences and professional careers.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience and Adaptability: Life can be difficult and stressful at times. The ability to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to changing circumstances is crucial. This involves developing emotional intelligence, stress management techniques, and a growth mindset that views challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. For women starting their journey, focusing on building resilience can be empowering. Embrace challenges, seek feedback, and don’t be afraid to fail. Learning from each experience and using it to adapt and move forward is key.
Next, I am a huge advocate of Effective Communication. Being able to articulate ideas clearly, listen actively, and engage in meaningful conversations is essential in both personal and professional settings. It includes verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as the ability to negotiate and assert oneself respectfully and confidently. To develop this skill, practice active listening, engage in public speaking opportunities, and seek out diverse interactions to understand different perspectives.
Finally, I would highly suggest Continuous Learning and Skill Development. You are never too old to become a successful human being in this World. I would self-sabotage by telling myself I was too old to do something new. That was so far from the truth. The landscape of any field is constantly evolving, so a commitment to lifelong learning and skill enhancement is vital. This could mean staying updated with industry trends, pursuing further education, or learning new technologies. For women early in their journey, identifying key skills relevant to their field and pursuing opportunities to develop these skills—whether through formal education, online courses, or hands-on experience—can be highly beneficial.
A strong advice for development that I have for readers are to Seek Mentorship. Follow the For Noble Women platform and connect with me to provide guidance, feedback, and support as you navigate your journey. If not me, find someone who can mentor you. This can be invaluable in gaining insights and advice from those who have experienced similar paths.
