Meet Rachel Pointer Pointer

We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Pointer Pointer recently and have shared our conversation below.

Rachel Pointer, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing my confidence and self-esteem came out of necessity. I believe that pain, anxiety, and even depression can develop when our dreams collide with our insecurities. When I realized that I wanted to teach, heal, and facilitate transformation in people’s lives, I knew I needed to address my insecurities and fears. I did this through several processes that were very effective. The first process I used was addressing what I believed about myself. I spoke affirmations each day such as, “I am a vessel for healing to come through.” “I speak healing words confidently.” ” I am a healer.” ” I am guided and miracles happen when I coach.”
The second process I used was visualization. I didn’t just imagine scenarios, I felt what I wanted to feel in that scenario and stayed as long as I could in that vision and feeling.
The third process I used was aligning my actions with the outcome I wanted. I took classes, got on zoom calls, hired a speaking coach, and constantly pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Keeping my word to myself has given me self-esteem because I have proven I am trustworthy.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve always loved encouraging and helping people on an emotional level. I have had a theme in my life that I want people to really feel seen and heard in my presence. In my early 30’s after getting married and having two children, my anxiety began to surface in a strong way. I dove into finding answers and through the process, I found my purpose in coaching! I loved that the modalities I used, studied, and became certified in, went straight to the core of my issues. As I found new layers of healing and confidence, I couldn’t wait to share this with anyone who wanted it! As I have found my own rhythm and personalized exercises I have found a love for walking clients through an emotional healing process. Many times, my clients are unsure about exactly what needs to be addressed and they are pleasantly surprised at how rapidly the issues come to the surface as well as how rapidly we are able to move through healing the root cause. Each client is unique so no session is the exact same. However, the process of healing and releasing emotions from the belief system and the body is what I believe every human needs for holistic, mental, and emotional health. I am offering a fall special for 4 sessions of emotional healing work. As the leaves on the trees fall all around us, it’s a beautiful and powerful time to release beliefs and emotions that no longer serve us.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that have served me not only in business but in life, in general, are listening, empathy, and curiosity. Growing up in a large family develops many different temperaments and skills. I quicky became a confidant and someone people felt safe talking to. While I have developed boundaries over the years so that I do not overextend myself, I still value offering a safe and loving space for people to feel heard. Empathy has been my greatest blessing and for many years a source of pain. I did not always know how to balance my empathy with wisdom on what was mine to fix or not. Working on boundaries made all the difference for me. As I have a more healthy balance now, I can fully lean into empathy without taking on the energetic or emotional burdens of others.
Curiosity is what has led me to find answers for my own healing and it didn’t end there! I now have the identity of a life-long learner and I feel so lucky to have so much information at my fingertips! This also serves me when I work with clients. Rather than seeing an obstacle in someone’s life, I lean into curiosity about what that obstacle could teach or what shifts in beliefs or perspective could cause the obstacle to dissolve.
These three qualities are what I believe most human beings desire to feel. My belief is that if we desire to be treated a certain way, it is vital that we develop those traits ourselves. We can develop listening by leaning into curiosity. Why is someone saying or acting the way they are? Why is someone experiencing pain? When we are truly curious, it puts us in listening mode and lets others feel heard. Developing empathy begins with having compassion for ourselves. Many of us have unkind or judgemental thoughts about ourselves. The more we shift those to kind and compassionate thoughts and words, the more we can offer that to others. Developing curiosity can begin by knowing we are limitless beings! Many times we believe the world is exactly as we see it, but it is not. The world is just a projection of our inner world. I would say the best way to cultivate creativity is to expose ourselves to new ideas. Some we will agree with some we will not. I can guarantee though, that you will have so many aha moments that shift your perspective of reality….then you’ll be hooked!

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza rocked my world. When I was finding answers to overcome anxiety, insecurity, and fears, this book made me believe anything was possible. I still reference Dr. Dispenza and his work continues to gain traction as well as produce evidence for the work he is doing. O ne of the greatest insights was that our body is the unconscious mind. Learning this helped me understand that our body can learn what anxiety, anger, sadness feels like and then the body can be triggered to feel that way even before our mind consciously makes sense of it. The second insight that changed my experience was understanding that most of us are living each new day in the past. Meaning, we thing 90% of the same thoughts each day which means we make the same decisions, feel the same ways in our bodies, and produce the same outcomes. Understanding this allowed me to become aware of the thoughts I was thinking and the programs I was running each day. I kept the programs that were pleasant and helpful and began changing the programs that kept me stuck! This book has influenced much of my personal and professional work.
