We recently connected with RADIVM and have shared our conversation below.
Hi RADIVM, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
100% my grandmother. She is hands down one of the strongest individuals I know. Whether it’s just going to work or remodeling her house (by herself), that woman is always up to something. Growing up she would never let me forget how important it is to take care of what needs to be done. No matter what was going on in life, work has to be done if you want to enjoy the fun part of life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I make electronic music, I’ve been DJing for almost 5 years and started producing music about 2-3 years ago. I think music is a very special thing. In the divided and harsh world we live in, I think it’s important to have something that connects everyone from all walks of life. I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t listen to music. Even though not everyone agrees on genres and artists, everyone can agree that music is great and creates a sort of bond between people. I have certain songs that can take me back in time, it feels, to moments with people that I love. It’s a beautiful thing. I heard someone once say “Art decorates space, music decorates time.”
In other news, I do have some projects I am in the works of, I’m working with some local labels to put out a couple albums. Still in the process of all this of course, so there is no given time when it will all be done. But soon enough, patience is a virtue.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think honesty is extremely important within any pursuit in life, whether it be art, business or just in general. It might sound cliche but while of course I mean honesty to those around you, I especially mean honesty to yourself. I feel like it’s easy to get caught within the idea of doing the work or becoming something v.s. actually putting the work in to become that something. Setting honest and realistic goals for yourself and being honest as to why the outcome was what it became. Another important quality is resilience. You gotta push past hate, drama, late nights, countless hours of work for little to no gain, bombed sets, you name it. It’s hard. Even though this is coming from me who hasn’t even made it anywhere far in this game, from the small accomplishments I have had, there are moments where it feels impossible. But it only becomes impossible when you quit.
As for skills, you have to know how to talk with people. I don’t believe I would be anywhere without the networking. Going to shows, just to talk to people and find the scouts and the promoters or other musicians. Any profession involving some sort of art is a word of mouth game, especially music. For a moment in my life, I had a few sales jobs, just door to door, nothing extremely complex, but I excelled in that line of work. The skillset that job gave me to translated very well into networking and marketing myself. I am the product, and I must simply sell it.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
I would love to say that I would quit my job, sell all my belongings and travel the world spending the rest of my time continuing to chase my dream, writing music and trying to get every booking possible. But I can’t honestly say that because I think spending time with my family would be more important to me. My family and my few close friends are really all I have to lean on when life gets hard, and without that I don’t even think the music would matter. Obviously with 10 years, I would be able to balance the two easily but family time would be more important.
