Meet Radka Styskala

We were lucky to catch up with Radka Styskala recently and have shared our conversation below.

Radka, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

No one is born resilient – we become resilient by surviving the hardest parts of our lives.
For me, it was built slowly, over time, especially through the painful moments when everything felt like it was falling apart.

For years, I was in constant motion – pushing, proving, performing… until my body and soul simply said no more.
What I experienced wasn’t just exhaustion – it was a total disconnection from myself. I felt numb, lost and completely worn down.

I realised I was experiencing deep burnout – and this breaking point was also my turning point.

I knew I couldn’t keep living by someone else’s rules or chasing a version of success that left me feeling empty. So I made the hardest and most liberating decision of my life: I left my job, I walked away from the noise and expectations, and I gave myself permission to begin again.

During that time – when I was emotionally drained, barely functioning and spending entire weeks in pyjamas just trying to get through – one book unexpectedly sparked a shift in my perspective: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. Its humour, absurdity and unexpected lightness reminded me that life doesn’t have to be so heavy. That even in the mess, we’re allowed to laugh, to let go and to choose a different path. It softened something in me. And for the first time in a long while, I began to believe that a different kind of life might be possible.

I decided to move to Spain. I was 35, didn’t know a single person and had no safety net – no friends, no family, no clear plan. Just a quiet inner knowing that I couldn’t go back to who I was before.
But after some time I realised that simply changing my surroundings wasn’t enough. I could’ve moved even to Mars and still ended up burnt out – unless I was willing to change what was happening inside me. That was the real work: breaking the patterns that kept leading me to the same place, no matter where I lived.

The first few years abroad were incredibly hard. I had moved from a busy capital city to a quiet Spanish village. Everything felt unfamiliar. I was learning a new language, adapting to a new culture and navigating a new way of living.
But in that discomfort, something beautiful happened: I began to reconnect with the part of me I had long forgotten – the part that is strong, intuitive and fully present. The version of me that could rise again from nothing – like a phoenix from the ashes.

That’s where my resilience comes from. From choosing to start over. From finding strength in the quiet moments when no one was watching. From realising I didn’t need permission to live life on my terms – I only needed to trust myself. And to listen to the inner voice that’s always been guiding me.

I’ve learned that real strength isn’t loud. It’s in the way you honour your energy. In how you say no to what doesn’t feel right – saying no to relationships that no longer serve you, to stable work that drains you, to friendships that reveal themselves as untrue. It’s in the way you show up – not out of pressure, but out of purpose.

And today, my strength comes from being aligned. From building a business that reflects who I really am – honest, intuitive, present. When you live in flow and trust your own rhythm, resilience stops being a fight. It becomes a quiet, grounded knowing that you can handle anything – because you’ve already come so far.
That’s where my power is.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

After years of working in corporate communications, PR and events, life led me to a very different path – one that feels deeply aligned with who I truly am today.
I’m now a Licensed Personal Realtor in Costa Blanca South, where I run a one-of-a-kind, client-focused real estate business called LOOK AT ME SPAIN.

What makes my work special isn’t just the properties I help clients find – it’s the way I do it.
I offer a unique, personalised one-to-one service – where the client’s needs, vision and emotional clarity are at the heart of everything.

This isn’t about sales or numbers for me – it’s about building trust, creating meaningful relationships and helping people find a place that truly feels like home.

The majority of my clients are international – often starting their own new chapter, just like I once did, or fulfilling a dream of owning their own small piece of Mediterranean paradise. That’s why I approach every partnership with empathy, patience and presence.
I take the time to deeply understand what my clients want, even when they’re not entirely sure yet. And sometimes, I surprise them – showing them options they hadn’t considered but that align perfectly with their lifestyle and vision.

My brand is rooted in authenticity, honesty and deep alignment. I’m not afraid to give the honest truth – even if it disrupts expectations – because I care more about long-term satisfaction than quick deals.

I don’t work with dozens of leads at once. I work with a few clients at a time, so I can give them my full attention and deliver a truly VIP, custom-made experience. It’s a bit like a boutique hotel – small, intentional and deeply personal.

What excites me most is that this business is a direct reflection of me – it’s a space where I can live in flow, trust my intuition and make decisions based on values, not pressure. That’s what freedom means to me.

Right now, I’m continuing to grow my brand in an organic, soul-led way – through word-of-mouth, aligned connections and meaningful results.
And the clients who are meant to find me always do.
The honest reviews from those who’ve experienced this service firsthand are my most powerful marketing. They recommend me from the heart – and to me, that’s the clearest sign I’m on the right path.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I’d say the three most impactful things that shaped my journey were self-trust, intuition and emotional resilience. And none of them came naturally at first – I had to unlearn a lot to make space for them.

Self-Trust:
For a long time, I looked outside of myself for answers – for approval, direction, permission. But true freedom came when I started trusting my own voice. Self-trust doesn’t mean you always know what you’re doing – it means you believe in your ability to figure it out.
Advice: Start by paying attention to how often you override your inner voice. Build small moments of courage where you choose your truth, even if it’s uncomfortable. Over time, it gets louder and clearer.

Intuition:
My intuition is now one of my strongest business tools, but I didn’t always know how to listen to it. I used to second-guess everything, letting logic drown out what I felt was right. Learning to trust my gut – in real estate and in life – changed everything.
Advice: Intuition speaks in whispers. Create space for stillness. Whether it’s through journaling, time in nature or slowing down in the mornings – your intuition needs quiet to be heard.

Emotional Resilience:
Multiple burnouts taught me that pushing through isn’t strength – it’s disconnection. Real resilience comes from knowing how to pause, reset and honour your limits. It’s not about being invincible. It’s about being whole.
Advice: Treat your energy as sacred. Learn to rest before you’re forced to. And don’t be afraid to break patterns that no longer serve you – even if they once brought you success.

For anyone early in their journey, know this: you don’t have to have it all figured out. But if you stay connected to yourself – your truth, your pace, your path – you’re already doing the most important work.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

One of my biggest ongoing challenges is staying fully connected to myself – especially when life gets busy or decisions pile up.

Even after everything I’ve experienced, I sometimes still catch myself looking outward for answers. I let other people’s advice influence me more than I’d like to admit, even when deep down I know what feels right. It’s a pattern I’ve been unlearning – slowly, gently and with a lot of compassion.

The other challenge is falling into autopilot. When I have a full schedule or long client days, it’s easy to get caught in the doing – and lose touch with the being. I can start rushing again, overextending myself or slipping into old habits of pushing too hard.

The way I’m working through it is by consciously returning to presence. I pause. I breathe. I check in with my body. I notice: am I acting from alignment or from fear? From my truth or from external noise?
Working with a personal coach has helped me strengthen this awareness and create space for more intentional choices – especially when old patterns try to take over.

It’s not always perfect – and that’s ok. I remind myself that awareness is the work. And every time I choose presence over pressure or intuition over people-pleasing, I feel a little more grounded, a little more free.

The truth is: personal growth doesn’t end when you find your path – it begins there. And I see this challenge as part of my practice. A way to stay close to myself, even as my business grows and life moves forward.
