Rae, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I think my resilience was forged in the spaces where science and surrender met.

For years, I studied hormones, reproduction, and the beautiful ways the body adapts under stress. I earned my PhD in Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology and thought I understood resilience from a cellular level, the biochemical loops that keep us going when life gets hard. But nothing tested that knowledge like becoming a mom did.

My first birth started as a planned home birth and ended in an emergency cesarean, a broken tailbone, and months of physical and emotional recovery. I remember sitting on the floor, feeding my newborn through tears, realizing that resilience wasn’t something you study. It is something you live through when everything feels undone.

It didn’t come from grit or positivity. It came from letting myself rest, cry, pray, and be helped. From learning that my body wasn’t weak for breaking. It was wise for calling me to slow down.

That season changed how I see everything. Now, when I mentor women through fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum, I bring both sides of who I am: the scientist who understands the physiology and the mom who knows what it feels like to lose control and rebuild piece by piece.

Resilience, to me, isn’t about bouncing back. It is about growing roots right where you are, tender, imperfect, and somehow stronger than before.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the founder of Thrive with Dr. Rae, where I walk with women and couples through fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum with a blend of science, compassion, and soul-deep support. My background is in Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology, and after earning my PhD studying hormones and reproductive health, I felt called to create a more personal way to help families thrive through every stage of motherhood.

I support clients who are trying to conceive naturally, navigating hormone imbalances, preparing for birth, or finding their footing after delivery. Together, we use lab testing, personalized blueprints, nutrition and lifestyle shifts, and emotional coaching to uncover what their bodies are communicating and create a clear path forward. I meet each woman where she is in her beliefs and season of life, helping her feel safe in her body again, confident in her choices, and connected to her innate wisdom and purpose.

What inspires me most is witnessing transformation, the quiet confidence that comes when women begin to trust their bodies again. Every story reminds me that thriving is not about perfection but about feeling grounded, supported, and whole.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Curiosity kept me asking “why” long after textbooks stopped having the answers. It guided me through years of research on hormones and fertility, and it still drives me today as I help women understand their own bodies. I encourage anyone starting out to stay endlessly curious. Let your questions guide you, not intimidate you.

Compassion changed how I lead. Early in my career, I thought expertise was the most important thing. Motherhood taught me that presence and empathy often heal more deeply than information alone. My advice is to slow down, listen first, and remember that people rarely need fixing—they need to feel safe and understood.

Discernment has been the quiet skill that holds everything together. It is the ability to pause, pray, and sense what is truly needed next—whether with a client, a business decision, or your own body. To develop it, practice creating space before reacting. The answers come in the stillness.

Together, these qualities keep me grounded in both science and soul. They remind me that success is not just about knowing more, but about seeing more deeply.

Yes, I love connecting with others who share a heart for supporting women and families through fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. Collaboration is one of my favorite parts of this work because it allows us to bring together different gifts and perspectives to better serve our communities.
