Meet Raghav Reddy

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raghav Reddy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Raghav, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I feel seeing the world from a broader perspective just without always thinking of myself until case of any financial, physical or mental damage caused helps in bringing a lot of growth in me as a person. Looking back at times when I was so self centered I couldn’t cater any criticism but now meeting and working with people from all around the world has made my thinking more clear and sensible. Also my parents always told me if you lend one hand for help, god will serve you with 100 hands when you need help. So I try to stay humble and supportive to all my friends and families and want to see all of them succeed in their life.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I usually work as Production Designer and Art Director for films, TV shows, music videos, and commercials. I am a troubleshooter person. I just love exploring new styles, curating visuals and bringing them to life, and working on everything as it is my last project which influences me to work harder. Networking and being humble and respectful take you a long way. I love helping people if possible because I always say when people ask me why I want to help a stranger, it’s not them, it is the potential they have because someone took a chance on me when I had nothing and I want to do the same for new and rising talents. I worked on the Mamba League Invitational at LA live, It was a wonderful experience and felt a sense of satisfaction to give tribute to Kobe Bryant. I want to make and create art which is remembered and symbolic in good examples possible.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Quantity over quality. I learned the art of stop chasing things. There is a thin line between chasing and working hard for getting something to work and when you are able to understand the difference I feel you are golden. I love helping people if possible because I always say when people ask me why I want to help a stranger, it’s not them, it is the potential they have because someone took a chance on me when I had nothing and I want to do the same for new and rising talents. It was definitely not easy and took some time because I believe a strong foundation is very important for a strong structure. I definitely learned the chapter on patience in the States especially in India it’s so different. I also learned it’s very important to be a good listener and try to be an absorber in any situation. You have to also make sure to keep your mental peace in place, its brutal to say you cannot make everyone happy like a ice cream, if someone wants to stay in your life they also need to make the effort else you will end up playing alone and will soon be exhausted and burned out.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My family has consistently been my pillar of support. Despite the numerous challenges this country has thrown my way, the fire, confidence, and unwavering faith my parents place in my abilities have fortified me to overcome adversities and realize my aspirations. Their enduring presence by my side has been an anchor through tumultuous times. Furthermore, I must acknowledge the profound impact of an exceptional and honest friend named Kirsten Nygaard. She has extended invaluable assistance whenever I required it. From her, I imbibed invaluable principles on treating others with respect and cultivating proactive and empathetic qualities. This friendship is a rare gem, characterized by trust, open communication, mutual understanding, and unwavering honesty. These factors collectively have not only contributed to my personal growth but have also enriched my perspective on resilience, nurturing relationships, and the significance of genuine support systems.
