Meet Raheem Brown

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Raheem Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Raheem, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Great question. I was a child and teenager in the 70’s & 80’s and raised, unfortunately in one of the most dangerous housing developments in the United States.

Albany Houses in Brooklyn, NY was originally a working class community of Hispanic and Black Americans. Most households were two parent, working families. For the most part, the adults in my neighborhood were blue collar workers and those who weren’t employed, volunteered at the local public schools, recreation and community centers or tenant associations.

My grandfather was the financial rock of our family, and my parents worked as well, to support my older brother and I.
Once I became a teenager and was eligible to get “working papers” at 14 I found my first summer job. The ability to have my own money, from a working wage, which was $3.75 per hour was a big deal to me. I felt I was no longer a financial burden on my parents.

Prior, to the introduction of crack cocaine into the many United States working neighborhoods, including mine. I always observed working men. My grandfather, father, uncles, and men in my neighborhood, who owned barbershops, bodegas, meat markets, etc.

These experiences have developed my current work ethic, and contributed in my quest to become a successful entrepreneur and small business owner.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

RAHLALUXURYS Inc is a licensed NYS Hemp Cannabinoid Distributor, specializing in the wellness and aphrodisiac benefits of non-carcinogenic infused ingestibles.

The challenges of growing our brand in a niche industry that is still experiencing decriminalization and legalization in most states can be difficult.

However, our focus on customer education and discovery for adults who are trying infused ingestibles for the first time is really rewarding. Such as, the combination of natural fruits and other plant based ingredients with
Cannabinoids is a fascinating process.

Plant botany and Human anatomy has been an effective balance for centuries. I’m fortunate to have a business that strives to maintain that. Our signature MariWet Infused beverage is a reflection of that.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities, skills and areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey are work ethic, vision and networking.

I was fortunate to have a great business mentor, who advised me to start my business with, “what I like and what I know”. I like cannabis and know the importance of infused aphrodisiacs in sexual wellness.

I have recycled the advice my business mentor shared with me. Start with what you like and know, and turn your passion into profit.

How would you describe your ideal client?

RAHLALUXURYS ideal client is someone who is open minded to trying adult plant based alternatives for their wellness and aphrodisiac needs.

Characteristics of an ideal client include someone who prioritizes the Like, Lust and Love of Romance and Intimacy. Working adults with a busy schedule who embrace sexual wellness as part of their lifestyle.
