We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rajat Patel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Rajat with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from pure passion and appreciation for all art forms, people, and cinema and to make that happen, It’s usually chaos but an organized one, Also, So, being able to manage that chaos with passion is the only work ethic that I follow, “Making it happen, No matter what!”
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
It’s a mix of art and business, I am a film/ video Producer and cinema lover. I am a double major in films, and I create ideas and produce them to make them tangible by collaborating with different art forms and the people around me.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Film/ video Production, Visual Marketing, and Film consultation
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was give me the freedom to explore my passions without limitations. They never imposed a rigid career path on me; instead, they encouraged me to dive into what truly excited me, whether it was dancing, drama, public speaking, or eventually filmmaking.
Their support wasn’t just emotional but also practical. They took me to movies, exposed me to different forms of art, and always reassured me that pursuing a creative career was valid. In a society where stability is often prioritized over artistic ambition, their belief in my journey gave me the confidence to take risks and carve my path in the film industry.
Even now, as I navigate the ups and downs of this profession, their unwavering trust in my vision keeps me grounded. Their biggest lesson to me was that success isn’t about quick results, t’s about persistence, learning from failures, and staying true to your passion.
