Finding my purpose wasn’t a sudden revelation—it was a journey shaped by experiences, challenges, and an insatiable curiosity about how I could create a meaningful impact. At the core of my purpose is a deep desire to empower others, foster creativity, and contribute to building vibrant, sustainable communities.

The turning point came early in my career when I began 1999 working in the hospitality and entertainment industries at a very young age. I was drawn to these fields because of their ability to bring people together, create unforgettable experiences, and celebrate the richness of human connection. Managing world-class hotels, orchestrating high-impact events, and curating moments of joy gave me immense satisfaction—but I always felt a yearning to do more.

That sense of “more” became clearer in 2007 when I founded the Red Sea Academy for Tourism & Entertainment Services. The Academy’s mission—to educate and inspire—resonated deeply with me. It was more than just a professional endeavor; it was a platform to help others uncover their potential. Witnessing students grow, excel, and make meaningful contributions to the industry was transformative. It reinforced my belief that my true calling was building platforms that empower others to thrive.

Even when faced with adversity—like the Academy’s closure in 2013 due to the political and economic turmoil following the 2011 Egyptian revolution—I stayed committed to this purpose. Those three years were filled with daily challenges and uncertainty, but they taught me resilience and adaptability.

In 2018, I embarked on a new chapter of my journey by co-founding the D&D Entertainment Group in Dubai with my best friend, Mohamed Hamed. Mohamed had already laid the foundation with D&D Productions, a thriving entertainment company. Together, we envisioned something much greater—a dynamic enterprise that could provide a complete spectrum of services under one roof.

What started as a dream quickly transformed into a reality fueled by shared passion and ambition. We poured our energy into expanding the company, creating an ecosystem that blended creativity and innovation. From producing captivating events to developing groundbreaking media projects, every step we took was aimed at redefining the entertainment landscape.

Our collaboration wasn’t just about business; it was about building something meaningful—an enterprise that could inspire, create, and connect. D&D Entertainment Group became a reflection of that vision, growing into a powerhouse of talent and innovation that continues to resonate in the industry today.

Later, in 2021, I launched NYC360 Inc., a Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) platform based in New York City. This platform, like my other initiatives, reflects my belief in education, creativity, and connection as forces for change. Through writing books, raising awareness about pressing social and cultural issues, and mentoring others, I’ve consistently aligned my work with the values I hold dear.

I’ve learned that purpose isn’t static—it evolves with us. Today, my purpose transcends professional achievements; it includes contributing to sustainable urban development, exploring consumer behavior, and advocating for cultural and societal awareness. Every project I undertake revolves around leaving a positive, lasting impact on the world.

Ultimately, I found my purpose by following what energized me, paying attention to what resonated deeply, and turning both triumphs and setbacks into opportunities for growth. It’s a journey of continuous learning, reflection, and alignment with what truly matters.

About My Journey with Red Sea Academy For Tourism & Entertainment Services.

The Red Sea Academy for Tourism & Entertainment Services has always been at the heart of my professional journey. Its creation was not just a business endeavor—it was a response to a profound need I saw within Egypt’s tourism and entertainment industries. Back in 2003, when I first identified the lack of skilled professionals in Egypt’s entertainment, events, hospitality, and the tourism sector, I knew that there was an opportunity to fill that gap while uplifting both the industry and the people within it.

Starting the Academy wasn’t easy, but it was born out of a deep desire to provide world-class training and opportunities for aspiring entertainers, event managers, and hospitality experts. At the time, the tourism and entertainment industries were rapidly growing, especially along Egypt’s Red Sea coast, but there was a glaring absence of formal education to equip individuals with the necessary skills to succeed. I wanted to change that narrative.

In 2007, after the initial phase of the Academy, we expanded our offerings to include a full-fledged campus in Marsa Alam, which became a beacon for aspiring professionals. This move was pivotal, not only because it marked the beginning of a more structured and expansive educational model, but because it also allowed us to further develop and specialize the Academy’s training programs. With an incredible campus that boasted state-of-the-art facilities, our students had access to hands-on training that included everything from performance arts to guest management and event coordination.

Throughout the Academy’s journey, we maintained a commitment to providing comprehensive services for the tourism sector. Over the years, I also saw a need for specialized services within the entertainment industry. That led to the creation of several sub-companies under the Academy umbrella, each catering to a different aspect of entertainment and hospitality services—whether it was sound systems, lighting, event design, or even fitness and recreation services. This diversification was not only an expansion of the Academy’s offerings, but a way to meet the growing demands of the industry in Egypt, as well as the increasing expectations of international tourists and clients.

What truly set the Academy apart was its international influence. One of the most special and exciting aspects of our work was the effort we put into bringing world-class experts from Europe—Italy, France, the UK, Russia, and Ukraine—to contribute to our programs. I firmly believed that in order to provide students with a holistic view of the entertainment world, we needed to expose them to global perspectives and standards. These international collaborations not only helped elevate the Academy’s reputation but also ensured that students received top-notch training directly from the best in the industry.

Our partnerships and collaborations brought global leaders in entertainment to Egypt—leaders in areas like dance, music, lighting design, event production, and more. It was an enriching experience to watch our students learn directly from these international experts and incorporate their techniques and innovations into their own work. For me, it was the intersection of local talent and international expertise that made the Academy truly unique and impactful.

The Red Sea Academy wasn’t just about offering training—it was about changing the way Egypt’s entertainment and tourism sectors operated. We didn’t just provide entertainers; we created professionals who understood the nuances of guest experience, who knew how to create impactful events, and who could design experiences that were as transformative for the guest as they were for the performer. We were shaping the future of the industry, one student at a time.

Looking back at our achievements, I’m proud of the milestones we reached. From being recognized by prestigious international entities such as THOMAS COOK for delivering outstanding entertainment teams, to organizing large-scale events like the official opening of Port Ghalib with an iconic performance by Beyoncé, the Academy made its mark in ways that I never imagined possible when we first started. We became a cornerstone of Egypt’s tourism and entertainment industries, and our students became the driving force behind the success and global recognition of many top resorts, hotels, and entertainment venues in the region.

Even when we faced significant challenges—like the political turmoil following the Egyptian revolution in 2011, which led to the closure of the Academy in 2013—I remained steadfast in my commitment to my purpose. That difficult period only reaffirmed the importance of the Academy and its mission. Despite the adversity, we used the closure as an opportunity to reflect, regroup, and prepare for the next chapter of our journey. The lessons learned during that time continue to shape my approach to business, creativity, and community-building today.

The Red Sea Academy wasn’t just an educational institution—it was a movement. It was about creating a legacy of excellence, where every student, every graduate, and every person we interacted with was empowered to reach their full potential. That’s why I look back at it with immense pride—it wasn’t just a place to learn; it was a place to grow, to thrive, and to make an impact.

The foundation laid by the Academy paved the way for everything I’ve done since, from my ventures in entertainment to my passion for promoting sustainable development and advocating for cultural and societal awareness. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back at my journey, the three most impactful qualities and skills that shaped my path and success are: Passion and Resilience, Innovation and Creativity, and Cross-Cultural Adaptability and Market Understanding. Each of these interconnected qualities has been pivotal in driving my growth and achievements.

1. Passion and Resilience: The Foundation of Endurance and Growth
Passion has been the driving force behind everything I’ve achieved. It fueled my dedication to creating the Red Sea Academy and ventures in entertainment and community-building. Passion transforms challenges into opportunities and setbacks into valuable lessons. Paired with resilience, it becomes an unshakable foundation for enduring adversity and navigating uncertain landscapes. Resilience isn’t just about recovering from setbacks—it’s about learning, adapting, and pushing forward with determination and purpose.

Advice for Early Career Individuals:
Find your passion—what energizes and excites you. It will sustain you through tough times and inspire you to go beyond the ordinary. Resilience complements passion; embrace failures as part of the process and use them to grow stronger. Cultivate a mindset of perseverance and surround yourself with supportive mentors and peers.

2. Innovation and Creativity: Engines of Differentiation and Progress
The ability to innovate and think creatively has been essential throughout my career. Innovation involves embracing change, taking risks, and developing solutions that break from tradition. Creativity fuels this process, helping to design experiences and ideas that resonate with people. At the Red Sea Academy, I combined innovation with creativity to craft educational and entertainment programs that pushed boundaries and set new standards.

Always look for ways to innovate—whether through new ideas, technologies, or methods. Creativity doesn’t always require grand gestures; small, thoughtful changes can make a big impact. Working with diverse teams and understanding global audiences has been instrumental in my journey. Cross-cultural adaptability helped me navigate international markets, foster partnerships, and deliver tailored solutions. Market understanding, supported by thorough research, allowed me to anticipate trends, identify opportunities, and connect deeply with audiences. Together, these skills have been critical for building relationships and maintaining relevance in a fast-changing world.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I have a rule for moments like this: “Concentration = Cancellation.” When faced with a big objective or a significant challenge, I believe the only way to succeed is to cancel out all distractions and focus completely on the task at hand. Overwhelm often stems from spreading ourselves too thin, trying to manage everything at once. By narrowing my focus to the most critical priority, I regain clarity and control.

The first step in dealing with overwhelm is eliminating everything non-essential. I evaluate what truly matters at that moment and put everything else on hold. This concentrated effort allows me to give my full energy and attention to the most pressing objective, ensuring higher quality and efficiency.

When I was working on a major event for the Red Sea Academy, there were countless demands on my time, but I knew I couldn’t do everything simultaneously. I canceled unnecessary meetings, delegated secondary tasks, and concentrated solely on the event’s critical aspects. This singular focus allowed me to deliver a successful outcome.

Advice:
When you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask yourself, “What is the one thing that requires my undivided attention?” Once you identify it, clear your schedule, mute distractions, and give it your all. You’ll find that progress on the most important task eases the feeling of being overwhelmed.

2. Break Down the Objective into Manageable Steps
Overwhelm often comes from the sheer scale of a challenge. To combat this, I break it down into smaller, actionable steps. This approach makes the task feel achievable and creates a sense of progress, which motivates me to keep going.

Example:
When launching a new training program at the Red Sea Academy, the complexity was intimidating at first. Instead of tackling everything at once, I divided the project into phases: curriculum design, faculty recruitment, and marketing. By focusing on one phase at a time, I was able to execute the program smoothly and without unnecessary stress.

Advice:
Take time to map out your big goal into smaller milestones. Celebrate progress at each step—it keeps you motivated and reduces the mental load of managing a large project.

3. Prioritize Self-Care to Sustain Focus
Even during high-pressure situations, I make it a point to prioritize self-care. Concentration requires energy, and energy comes from a well-rested mind and body. Simple practices like taking breaks, eating well, and staying active are non-negotiable for me.

While managing a demanding workload, I’ve found that a 15-minute break to stretch or meditate can significantly enhance my productivity and focus. It’s not about working endlessly; it’s about working effectively.

Advice:
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you don’t have time for self-care. A short pause to refresh your mind can dramatically improve your performance. Remember, your well-being is the foundation of your success.

4. Build a Support System and Delegate
Another crucial aspect of managing overwhelm is recognizing that you don’t have to do everything alone. I lean on trusted colleagues, friends, or mentors for support and delegate tasks where possible. Collaboration not only lightens the load but also brings fresh perspectives to challenges.

During a particularly challenging period at the Red Sea Academy, I reached out to my team for support. By delegating tasks and openly communicating the shared vision, we were able to achieve our goals efficiently and effectively.

Advice:
Surround yourself with people you trust and don’t hesitate to seek their help. Delegating is not a sign of weakness; it’s a smart way to focus on what only you can do best.

5. Reflect and Learn from Overwhelm
Finally, I view moments of overwhelm as opportunities for growth. I take time to reflect on what led to the situation, what I could have done differently, and how I can better manage similar challenges in the future.

After facing the challenges of running a dynamic and multi-faceted academy, I realized the importance of saying no to less critical tasks and protecting my time for high-impact goals. This reflection has been instrumental in shaping my approach to future challenges.

Advice:
Don’t let overwhelm discourage you. Instead, use it as a chance to refine your approach and strengthen your ability to handle pressure. Each challenge you overcome makes you better prepared for the next.
