Meet Randy Luna

We recently connected with Randy Luna and have shared our conversation below.

Randy, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes from a place deep within me, something I’ve felt since I was a child. Growing up, I saw both the beauty and hardship of life side by side. Sunday church outings painted a powerful contrast: people embracing each other with warmth and joy, while just steps away, someone in need stood quietly, unhoused, with untold struggles in their eyes. Even as a child, I understood that if I had something to give, I wanted to give it.

This instinct led me to volunteer with Hospice, food pantries, and The Bowery Mission—small acts of compassion driven by a heart that simply wants to help. For me, generosity is more than a momentary gesture; it’s a way of living that reflects my gratitude and love for humanity.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Right now, I’m a multi-faceted artist—fashion designer, stylist, choreographer, and actor. Each role lets me express different parts of myself. As a creative director and choreographer, one of my jobs is leading the P138M @Parkwest end-of-year show for District 75 in NYC. (https://www.schools.nyc.gov/learning/special-education/school-settings/district-75) , and I’m a teaching artist for musicals at Nest+M (https://nestmk12.net/ ), working with younger students. Education is essential, and the role we play in shaping future leaders truly makes a difference. Being a son, brother, uncle, mentor, leader, and friend are roles I treasure just as deeply. Between that and commercial auditions, I stay energized by creative projects, like recently being assistant stylist on the 2025 America’s Beauty Show Collection photoshoot with Ulta Beauty’s Pro and Design Team. If you’re into fashion competition shows, catch me on E!’s OMG Fashun series, hosted by Law Roach and Julia Fox, now streaming on Peacock—let me know what you think!

As a designer, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my first retail collection of sterling silver rings, debuting on my rebranded website before the end of this year, with in-store availability to follow. These rings celebrate multifunctionality, love, affirmation, and asymmetry—bringing meaning to every piece. It’s a journey, and I’m thrilled to see how far my brand will go!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were time management, integrity, and communication. Here’s my advice for anyone just starting out:

Time Management – Mastering time management is key because it’s about finding that balance. When you can prioritize and stay present, you’re able to bring your best to each part of your work and life. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.

Integrity – Hold tight to your integrity no matter the challenges you face. Staying true to yourself and your values helps you build strong, trust-filled relationships and keeps you grounded in your purpose.

Communication – Never underestimate the power of clear, honest communication. Whether you’re collaborating with a team or building projects with other creatives, communication can either hold you back or launch you forward.

Also, don’t forget discipline and adaptability! These are your superpowers for staying committed and resilient. And remember, teamwork truly makes the dream work—lean into it.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

I’ve always been drawn to philosophy and the power of thoughtful living, and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz has become a guidebook. It’s a guide I return to often because its wisdom is so simple yet transformative. Each principle resonates deeply:
Be impeccable with your word – This reminds me that words hold power, so speaking truthfully and kindly can impact our world in amazing ways.
Don’t take anything personally – Such a freeing idea! This agreement teaches me that other people’s actions reflect their reality, not mine.
Don’t make assumptions – This one encourages me to communicate openly, saving a lot of unnecessary worry.
Always do your best – A reminder that doing my best changes day to day, and that’s okay. Effort matters more than perfection.
After reading The Four Agreements, I was so inspired that I dove into more of Ruiz’s work, like The Mastery of Love, The Voice of Knowledge, The Fifth Agreement, and The Four Agreements Companion Book. Each of these expanded on his teachings, helping me understand love, self-truth, and personal freedom in new ways. Ruiz’s books continue to remind me to live with purpose, compassion, and authenticity, lessons that have been invaluable in my personal and professional growth.
