Meet Ranika Koneru

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ranika Koneru. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ranika below.

Ranika, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

This wasn’t easy and is a great story. I’ve doubted myself for years and had people share that I wasn’t good enough. This of course led me to believe that. I gained confidence when getting a spot to be on a reality tv show pilot and felt like I didn’t belong. I realized that I was already cast because they wanted me and it was such an overcoming and huge confidence uprising to be such a welcomed part of the show and a fantastic experience.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am currently working on a real estate business around acquiring rentals for college students and create a housing service where there’s a shortage in college towns. This is one of the two pillars, the other pillar with affiliate marketing, where I teach people how to leave their 9-5 and live life on their own terms to create financial freedom as a passive income coach. I lead retreats where I speak and create workshops around combining these two pillars as I believe that someone that wants to design their own days should be able to do it. The best part of the retreats I host are once it wraps up, we all attend an incredible cultural festival together like Carnival in Rio or Holi in India.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Dedication – Find something you are passionate about and stop at nothing to achieve it. Early on, I’d recommend trying on all different hats and finding a cause that resonates with you.
Sales – Entrepreneurship is just sales at the beginning, start early as sales is something that you can learn and see how this leads you into closing deals.
Be coachable – So often I’ve thought, I know this, I don’t need help. It’s ok to ask for help and realize that sometimes you have to unlearn something to make progress.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

You are a Badass – by Jen Sincero
It still is such a positive can do read. Anytime self doubt creeps up, I remind myself just how badass I’ve been already with the choices I’ve made to get me where I am today. I can’t recommend it enough!
