Meet Raniya Byers

We were lucky to catch up with Raniya Byers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Raniya , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my father and grandfather. My grandfather owns a cleaning company where they clean major global arenas throughout the country and seeing how driven he was as a child really motivated me to take charge for what you want out of life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Raniya Janae and I am a dancer. I have been dancing for about 18 years now and I have loved every second of it. With a passion in wanting to lead also, I created a small business called “Give It To Em: Heels With Raniya” to showcase women uplifting one another within the power of dancing and feeling bold, beautiful, and sexy while doing so. Expressing yourself, meeting new people, creating a fun habit, and joining a community where we build confidence and ALWAYS giving it to emmmm please come to class! You won’t regret it!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I believe h the e three qualities that I had within myself was confidence, leadership, and consistency. All of these things prepared me and shaped me into the woman I am today and without dance, I’m not sure where I would be. My best advice is stay consistent with anything you choose to do and it is ok to have fun and not be so caught up in all the responsibilities life throws at us.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

My biggest area of growth and improvement has been time managements Time management can really help you become successful in this little lifetime and it is very sufficient to be on time to things so that you can be more dependable to others. I was very bad at time management my early years of college and high school so growing out of that comfort zone is something I would say I am mostly proud of. Shaking off a bad habit feels great.
